Wealthy finance bro Paz is back in the woods at his family’s lumber business after losing his job, and ends up fake dating ex-cop Parker once he hires her as a PI to figure out what really happened to his dad before he died.

Love me a love story in which the main characters slowly peel away each other’s layers, revealing their soft centers and true selves. And then they shine together.

Snarky, swoony and fun, another hit in this lumbersnack series.

Paz (Pascal) is an uptight finance guy that moved to Lovewell after is father died, to help is brother save their family business. Then they found out is father was actually murdered. The police is doing nothing. Drug trafficking is involved. And they can’t have closer.
So he decide to hire a PI - Parker. An ex cop, that he had a tumultuous past with, on the case that shall not be named.
The thing is Lovewell doesn’t like strangers.
How the hell can she investigate under the radar, without tilting off the killer?
Well, isn’t fake dating the best option?
It seems solid to me.
She hates him, but can’t pass the case. It just a puzzle she wants to solve.
Want to know if they finally find out who the assassin was?
Go grab a copy.

Okay. The murder mystery has been dragged since book one. I knew who the murdered was. It was obvious. Still I wanted to read it.
I kept thinking the books would get better. But they don’t. They are very relationship based. They have contradictions, and constant repetition, which makes things a little meh.
The events drag along for so long.
The only thing I loved in this book is that the couples always stick together. They are true partners, there is no 3rd act break up. No miscommunication, and I loved that.
Parker is a bad bitch and I loved her. And Paz is a very complex character, with a depth that was anti climatic.

Happy Readings

I really enjoyed discovering more about Pascal in this book. In the previous books he may have seemed cold, even distant, when it came to his family, but we soon realise that he is hiding his anxiety under that mask of indifference.

Parker is an incredible character, and I love her so much. I appreciate Daphne Elliot’s ability to write strong FMCs who can stand on their own but still welcome a helping hand from time to time.

Every time I read one of the books in this series, I tell myself that I can’t possibly like the main couple more than the couple that was the focus of the previous book, but I’m wrong every time 😅

I'm going to hurry up and read the fourth—and final 😢— book in the series.

ARC kindly provided for the author in exchange for an honest review

The plot that connects the Lovewell Lumberjacks books keeps getting better and better (says someone who hates suspense & mystery mixed with romance) and I love that things are starting to unravel for the Gagnon family, plus Pascal & Parker were so much more beautiful than I expected and I loved reading them arguing and falling in love.

I have to say that I started this book hating Pascal

I like Paz and Parker. Some good banter. Liv is awesome. A lot of development in the case with the Gagnon's dad. (If you've read the whole series). Subtle anxiety representation.

Tropes: fake dating, small town romance, he falls first, forced proximity, opposites attract

Ok so I liked this book, Clive was back but I think because I loveeeddd Remmy and Hazel so I was almost comparing them!

This was a fast paced book and I loved how they peeled back each other’s layers, Paz had layersss and they as a couple had spice. I don’t mind fake dating I think it can be a really fun trope, and pairing it with the opposite ma attract was great Parker and Paz where so different yet it worked so well!

Parker was a complete badass, I would have liked to have seen more of that maybe some mini moments but it’s was a cute story overall

I would have liked more with Mr FBI or the dad but I think that’s because I like the drama, I found the last big scene very quick too but it wasn’t bad just fast for me!

Loved Liv too, I was definitely picturing her differently to how she was described haha
