I had some time to kill between work and book club last night, so I walked over to the library and hunkered down with BTVS, where I left off almost 3 years ago after the anger was too much to handle. "I'm older, I thought. "My dislike of the comic books was probably overstated back in 2015".
Nah, bro. 2015 me and 2018 me agree: these graphic novels are poo.
There's still no magic (geez, I forgot about how dumb all that was), and Buffy is just running around with a bunch of the new characters who aren't fleshed out enough for me to care about them, and everything is still watered-down weirdness. I also feel like they're gunning toward Xander having sex with Buffybot which... just... no. And Willow is a footnote and just...

Still a great continuation of the story. I took off a star because the artwork was a bit wonky. No one seems to be able to get a handle on how to draw Andrew.
Loved this volume and I'm stoked to see what Xander is going to do!
Illyria and Buffy, together in the same comics, fighting on the same side... Enough said ! (that was awesome !)
As with the other ones from this Season, I'm just happy it's a Buffy comic that's not outrageously epic like Season 8! This isn't groundbreaking comic artistry. This is a story that gets to be told even though the actors didn't want to do the show anymore (or for whatever reason why they stopped doing the show).
My complaint with this volume is that I keep getting hints that I should have watched all of Angel or be reading Angel + Faith but I'm doing neither of those things.

What the hell! Dawnie!! And also, what the hell?! Xander? But I don't believe the final page. Not for one minute.
Cutting the world off from magic might not have been Buffy's finest moment, but I think it did wonders for the series, bringing it back to a girl, her friends and a bunch of vampires. And a sentient red balloon. Happy to see Illyria and a couple of other familiar faces. This seemed a transitional volume, looking forward to what comes next.
I'm a big Illyria fan, so I'm happy to see her again, also Billy is there as well and we find out about the Siphons big plan. Big turn of events with willow back in the picture. But where is Spike?
