Unforunately, just like the first book in this series, I was left wanting more. I liked the introduction of the new characters: Cas and Dallas. It rounded the cast out a bit, but the plot was still lacking. James and Sloane are on the run after escaping The Program. They join up with the rebels, but they just seem to be aimlessly wandering around. And the rebel group doesn't really consist of anyone other than Cas, Dallas, and Realm.
Speaking of Realm, we do find out a little more about him in this book, but I still didn't trust him anymore than I did in the first book. I couldn't take anything he said seriously.
I got through this book quickly. It's really a continuation of The Program, picking up right where that book left off. Again it's told from Sloane's POV, which was too melodramatic for my taste. I know her life was in danger the whole series, but I wanted her to be stronger. Maybe series like The Hunger Games and Divergent have spoiled me, but I expect a strong female lead in a book like this.
I won't be reading the companion novel. Sadly this series just didn't work for me.

Первую книгу из этой серии я прочитала давно — ещё в январе 2015 года. Я осталась в восторге от неё, и поэтому с того времени ждала перевода продолжения. И хотя я сейчас очень много уже не помнила (да почти ничего, если честно), книга мне очень понравилась! В ней нет каких–то огромных интриг, жутких тайн, язык написания очень прост, но книга держит в напряжении до последней страницы. Я целый день не могла оторваться и все–таки дочитала за несколько часов. Не знаю, как вам, но для меня эта серия отличается от многих других подростковых антиутопий, которые сейчас издают каждый день с одним и тем же сюжетом, но разной задумкой. Для меня эта серия стоит на уровень выше многих других антиутопий, от которых сейчас фанатеет весь мир. Жаль, что в СНГ мало кто читал эти книги. «Программа» (и «Лекарство» соответственно тоже) — замечательный способ отдохнуть и расслабиться за лёгкой книгой с очень интересной задумкой. Чуть не забыла о любительском переводе, хотя даже не о переводе, а о редактуре. Такое впечатление, сто книгу не вычитывали: пропущенные местоимения, очень много опечаток, несколько раз слова героя продолжались не в той же строчке, а в следующей. В переводе заметила только одно: "Я вижу." 'I see." з английского переводится: "Понимаю." Надеюсь, что в переводе третьей книге качество текста будет лучше.
Моя оценка — 5/5, пока не очень понимаю, зачем нужно продолжение, но в 2017 году увидим. Ах, да, очень хочу ещё бонусы прочитать.

This book was absolutely amazing. In the first one I wasn't really a big an of the lovestory of Sloan and James but then it has just got cuter and cuter. During the last pages of the book, I was really wondering if there was doing to be a third book and was afraid of how it mind end but it was just perfect, everything fits together and they are many suddens. Good job Suzanne Young!
Loved this follow up to The Program. Imagine a life on the run, always looking over your shoulder. Moving from house to house. Never really being able to settle down, in case they come for you .......again. That's this book, and then some. If you like The Program, you'll love this even more.
2 1/2, and that's being generous. I was overall quite disappointed with the plot, even though I did like the characters and their development. I think if the book would've been longer -- with pivotal scenes being fleshed out some more -- it would've been better for me.
