I love Bunky, this little psycho so so much ❤️ and Whaley as much. Their relationship was so possessive and obsessive to such a toxic level, I should probably see a therapist haha.

The book was interesting but honestly after they got together I lost interest like I’ve never have. The romance/action got super high for the first half of the book and it kinda dropped a lot for the rest of the book. It was always the same and it got repetitive.
I think it’s more a me problem than the book itself.

I skimmed the book after 70% ish so I won’t be giving a full review as I don’t have all the details only the main storyline.

I honestly like the first book better ~ but my love for those two are not less ❤️

I tried but this was horrible. The relationship between them had no build up, bunky just got up one morning and decided he was obsessed with whaley. There's zero chemistry between both of them, and they have sexual tension equivalent to that of two potatoes set across from each other. This was just a really badly written dark romance, the only reason I finished it was cause I'd dnf-ed so many books already this week

Bunky and Whaley have my heart. Silas and Blaine will always be my ride or die characters but Bunky and Whaley were just so (unfortunately) relatable.

It’s absolutely not going to be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s okay. It’s definitely on the darker side with a plethora of trigger warnings but it just works.

Whaley tries to fight it, for obvious reasons, but knows that he and Bunky are both lost to their obsession to each other.

Whaley would burn the world down for him (and kinda does) and Bunky wouldn’t hesitate to light the match.

They’re toxic and codependent and everything I wanted for them. It’s a classic wild child and his wild tamer.

I think their story, however dark, just fits with who they are. I did want more of Bunky’s recovery at the end but the story was consistent and great.

I received a complimentary copy of this book but this is my honest and voluntary opinion!

"Whaley’s love would be the most beautiful ruin." -Bunky

"Bunky doesn’t want me to see reason, just wants me to join him in the madness. Fuck, but how incredible that madness would be." -Whaley

What a fucking ride... Is this the best book ever written? No. Is it a masterpiece? To me, YEAH.
I don't understand how or why I enjoyed this book so fucking much, but hey, what's a girl to do?!

Anyhow, this book continues the Riverdale-ish style/vibe of book one. It's a 15-year age-gap, leader of the Ace's Gang and his little psycho, toxic and codependent type of relationship. To be in Bunky's mind is an experience in of itself. Don't get me started on the meddling friendships that exist in this trailer park/gang bubble.

Both Bunky's and Whaley's childhood story is FUCKED UP, so check your trigger warnings.

Overall, I had a fucking blast, and I can't wait for Raid's story!

DNF at 65%. Idk if it was that the story became boring or that I wasn’t as exciting as the first, that both MCs were unhinged, giving the story no variety. Now Bunky I loved and also seeing Silas and Blaine, that’s about it. These two MC's IMO did not need to go together. Two extremes are never a good mix. There was zero chemistry here.

4.5 ⭐️ ARC review.

I loved this book! Bunky was my favourite side character in the last book so I was made up he was getting his own book and that his love interest was Whaley❤️ Whaley and Bunky are literally perfect for each other and I loved that they helped each other with their traumatic pasts ☹️ it takes a while for Whaley to admit his feelings for Bunky but I thought that made it more realistic even though I wanted them together from the first page

Whaley and Bunky are both broken boys who grew up to be broken men and never dealt with their traumas. And they are in gangs and do drugs, so those vices don’t help.

This didn’t work for me from the beginning. Neither man had been with a man (on page) prior to the encounter that led to Bunky becoming obsessed. That’s not to say they weren’t attracted obviously, but it all felt very forced to me and out of the blue, not at all organic.

The running theme I found was this: Bunky lost control of himself, did something impulsive and reckless, Whaley came to take care of it, tried to fight his attraction, couldn’t, screwed his brains out, regretted it and made excuses, and Bunky felt more like crap after. Their whole back and forth goes on for a few months (I’m assuming during the course of the first book).

Once they finally got together I was excited because I hate push/pull in books unless it’s an ongoing thing even in the relationship. However….after this was rectified I was bored. I had to force myself back to the book to read and close to the end was skimming through chapters.

This might just be a ‘me’ problem obviously, the book and I just didn’t jive. Hopefully you will love it, as it does have a lot of the tropes that I (and others) look for in a dark romance.

I received an advanced copy from Chaotic Creatives in exchange for my honest review.

I'm not even sure what to say. The two of them got together at about 35% of the way through the book. I saw other reviewers say this and I agree that it seems we were dropped into the middle of their love story. We didn't get to see all of the ways/reasons Whaley had been lenient with Bunky. Also, it took one sentence and all of a sudden Bunky was obsessed with Whaley. I felt like how they got together didn't make a whole lot of sense.

I did like them together though once they were. I was surprised by the bl00d play part though so that's a warning. But I did enjoy the whole 'I can't be any where but with you' thing that they had going for each other.
