I was so ready to read their story because it was so well teased in Hateful Love but I didn't get the same itch to read this book. Also, there was a sudden time jump of months that isn't clearly mentioned after Bunky started flirting with Whaley??? We should have seen this time period because I think it would've given us perspective on how Whaley thinks?? Bunky is clearly very impulsive and insta-lovey so his decisions made sense and the obsession he had with Whaley. But I couldn't understand why Whaley was interested in him?? I loved the first book because we were able to see the characters individually and grow together but I think in this book the trauma and the physicality of their relationship were more centered than the character developments, which probably makes sense since it's considered dark?? But I'm quite not sure. Also, one thing that irritated the hell out of me was, towards the end when Bunky clearly doesn't want to be touched Whaley just tackles him on the bed, trying to kiss him because he can't keep it to himself anymore? Like he is skittish for a reason right?? Overall kinda feel 50/50 about this book.
But so looking forward to Landon and Raid's book. Why is it called sinful love?? I feel like there is so much to unpack there. Can't wait!!!

Not for me.
Hateful Love is one of my top reads for this year, and I am so freaking excited for Raid and Landon’s book, but I just did not like Painful Love at all. It doesn’t usually take me this long to read but I just kept putting this down and not wanting to pick it back up.
Whaley and Bunky were interesting in the first book but not so much here. I was so bored, and then kind of shocked and disgusted, and then bored again. They were just… too much for me, and I didn’t really buy their feelings for each other. The relationship started way too quickly in my opinion, and I really don’t feel any chemistry between them.
The spice kind of saved this book. It was pretty hot, and the dirty talk was so good, on both ends. A good portion of their relationship was sex so I guess it’s a good thing it was interesting.
Pretty much the only parts I enjoyed were seeing Silas and Blaine, and Landon and Raid. Even scenes with Bunky with Badge and Fox were better than those of him with Whaley.
I did kind of like the way Whaley took care of Bunky after everything went down with the Vipers, but that was really the only time I felt they had any kind of emotional connection.
But please let March come soon and GIVE ME Raid and Landon’s book! I am feral for them.

This was good! I enjoyed their dynamics a lot. Who doesn't want someone to love every dark and depraved part of you??? 😅😅😅
