A wonderful installment for the Walsh family saga. I enjoyed getting to know Anna again and all the new characters in M'town. As always, lovely writing - thank you Marian Keyes.
Revisiting the Walsh family feels like diving into a big bag of pick n' mix. It's comforting, satisfying, and you don't want to stop. However, after a while, it gets too much and you wish you'd stopped earlier.
I really like Marian Keyes and the Walsh family, but this one was too long. As much as I love spending time with the family and all the characters, I would have preferred a bit more focused novel. In a way, the novel reflect how I imagine the family, so the length is in line with the characters, I guess. I also like that Keyes makes the characters feel alive with ailments that are relatable, and that she puts the stories in settings that can be dated. She's also very good at referring to lines and plots from the other books.
I wouldn't mind following the Walsh family a bit more, if there is a story to tell.

Usually I really enjoy a Keyes novel, but this was missing some sparkle. There were a few good scenes with all the mad Walsh scene, but in general it was a bit dull. It constantly told us how sexy Narky Joey was, but I never quite believed it. If you've read other Keyes novels, you might as well read this, but I wouldn't recommend it as a first foray.

Ugh….As Marian Keyes is one of my favourite authors I was really looking forward to this book, but it ended up being a disappointment. The story drags on far too long and could have been 300 pages shorter. The plot is painfully predictable with unnecessary fluff , making it hard to stay engaged. To make matters worse, some of the old characters in the series that I loved growing up reappeared, but not in a way that felt fresh or meaningful, they just seemed recycled and irritating. If I hadn’t read all their stories prior I would have hated them. While there were brief moments of the signature humor and heart, they were lost.
