What am I thankful for today? Dojo, of course! After just reading the first volume of this manga, he has already captured my heart, second only to Rosto and Ren Tsuruga (who are tied). The book itself was AWESOME!!! Its like, the Book Thief... kinda. Well, not quite. Not as sad, serious, historical, or Death-y. No Death as a narrator. And ohmygoodness, its like girl power, only for librarians. It has a real librarian-power feel to it! Yay! Well, kinda biased, but I love it, and just, its a lovely companion to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Go librarians!

This Manga is amazing! I love Iko! she is cute, inspiring, hard-working and funny. It is mainly why her drill sergeant keeps tabs on her. He believes in Iko. He pushes her to be persistent. She wanted to join the Library Defense Force because she was once saved by an officer. The officer saved Iko and a book she wanted to read. He displayed a badge in front of a policeman who targeted her. The policeman wanted the book because it was censored, and Iko was able to get it back.

Interesting enough to request the next in the series from the library. Not sure if I'm a fan of manga. I did like the little drawings that where the main characters internal dialog or side thoughts. I did not like the relationship between the main character and some of the other characters. But the story was great. I'll see what the next in the series brings.

This is a fun concept and one that obviously appeals to me as a librarian. I don't read much manga and it's still kind of hard for me to read it and understand all the tropes. I know this is popular with a lot of my teens and I assume they are into the romance plotline that was just pretty meh for me.

still, yay libraries!

So far, so good. It has an interesting concept to it and, naturally, I would love to be able to join a task force to defend banned books! I definitely want to read the next installment to see how this is all going to progress. So far, I am only bonding with one character. Everyone else seems to be so one-dimensional.
