The attack on the Death Star in the first book could have been shortened by about 30 pages in my opinion, but overall, 3 great reads! Oh, and it’s obvious that Leia was originally meant to be Luke’s love interest because of how many times he reflects on her beauty in A New Hope. I’m glad she ends up getting fleshed out as a character more in the next two.
The first two retellings are alright (I'd give 'em three stars). I thought "Empire Strikes Back" was going to be the best one, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that "Return of the Jedi" is the best - by far. I loved seeing the emotions/thought process/anxieties of Luke's character in detail. I give it four stars all together.

DNF’d about 50% of the way through. First book was tedious put I pushed through in the desperate hope the second would be better. It was not. It was sadly worse, with the writing style boring and repetitive - “the young commander did this”, “said the young commander”, “he was looking for the young commander”. This phrase was used multiple times a page and made me want to burn the book! The books added nothing at all to the films (which I love) and it’s an awful shame that these have not done them justice. This book made reading a chore and is a completely pointless read.
Really enjoy the book more that the movie now. Sorry about that haha. Well it is very fun and action pack. To read.
