It’s a really good simple read. A fun premise and decent characters. The middle gets a little slow but I’m a book that’s only about 250, that’s not a big complaint. The only thing that bothered me was kind of the back and forth retort between the main characters, especially during some pretty severe and dangerous moments. It felt quite out of place when a group of young scientists are in a life and death situation and they’re joking around like an SNL sketch.

Came for the cold-blooded kaijus, stayed for the warm and fuzzy entertainment. All around a very fun ride.

Funny book about protecting animals that just happen to be the size of a large building.

Although this was a re-read, I found myself enjoying the audio narration even more than I enjoyed my first read-through. Wil Wheaton really added to what was already there and his narration is phenomenal. This book is very humorous and full of funny banter. While I did feel a bit of a chill at being reminded of just how surreal 2020 was (it still feels like a fever dream, in retrospect), I still enjoyed the world building. Kaiju Earth is an interesting place, to say the least.
