Varg in Love made me smile. I love how Ulf's mind works. His logical deductions are impressive. What I like about the story is the underlying gentleness and sense of humour. A quick, pleasurable read.

"That's the trouble with February - it's not a good month for crime."

Alexander McCall Smith brought the gentle wit for which he is so well-known to bear in this wee short story about his newest star detective. Short and sweet. Definitely worth the few minutes required.

I'm low-key in love with Ulf Varg, I'll read untul he's dead.

He has a brother named Bjorn, which means bear. Their parents must have really loved animals.

I loved the card more than I care to admit, and I really miss Ulf.
