I connected with this second book on a deeper level than I did with the first one. This was a great follow-up and second book and I loved it from start to finish. Jay Crownover just keeps getting better and better! I can't wait for the next one! Such a refreshingly unique series! Give me more!!!
I mostly enjoyed this book, though I almost skipped to the end at 73% because I was so tired of the heroine being ridiculously stupid. It's this style of book that makes me appreciate it when heroines make decisions that actually make sense (why is that so rare?).
I was worried about this book based on the reviews but I didn't dislike Ayden as much as some did. I enjoyed this story a lot.
I managed to finish this in one sitting and I really enjoyed it. I think I prefer this book compared the Rule, as I read it faster and seemed to be into the story more. I love how Asa has been brought into the whole story and I cant wait to sre how his character unfolds.
As the same as the first book, I thought a lot of stuff got repeated more than it should have, which dragged the storyline along at times. But I think I enjoyed this book more than Rule because I already knew the characters and some of their backgrounds. So this one was just easy to get into. I love how much detail Jay Crownover puts into describing the characters and their situation because you really get the feel that you are there somehow.
I would definitely give this a 4.25 ★s because it is the best one that I have read in the series so far and it was an easy read.

3.5 stars So it was a while between reading Rule (which I loved!) and this book. I started reading it and thought whoa how did I enjoy Rule so much? Did the writing style get worse or was that book written like this as well? The way it was written was really annoying in the beginning, but then suddenly I found I was no longer caring about how it was written as I was wrapped up in the characters. It wasn't as good of a story as Rule, but I still enjoyed it. I cannot wait for the next book about Rome!

I read Jet once forever ago it seems, but I did not remember the story at all. Nothing more than what the synopsis states and even then I didn't remember what I thought of the characters or anything. Since Asa, the last in the Marked Men series, is coming out in a few weeks there has been a read along for all the prior books in the series going on Facebook. There is one book highlighted every week and last week was Jet. I was excited to re-read this, especially since it was like I was reading it for the first time.
I am not usually a fan of musicians or actors or anything like that in my books. Not sure what it is but I don't enjoy them. Jet however was different. I loved him! Maybe it is that he is happy being a big fish in a small pond. He is happy just making music and doesn't want to be in this big super popular band with a big record label touring the world all the time. He is happy playing with his band in small settings and just doing his thing. It was great.
Jet, like everyone else, has some issues from his past. His father wants him to be a star so he can ride on his coattails and pretend he is young again. He is not a good person and he treats Jet's mom horrible. The issue? His mom won't leave his dad. Jet feels responsible for her and it is really sad watching him try and care for someone that doesn't care as much about him. There are some heartbreaking scenes that make you just want to make everything better for him. Loved it.
Ayden also has a dark past, one that no one knows about. She got out of her hometown and reinvented herself and is determined to not be that girl she used to be. She wants Jet, but he makes her forget her new self so she stays away. Jet doesn't have a concrete future planned out and Ayden thinks she needs that or she will backslide. I didn't care for Ayden as much as I would like in this book. She came across as a bit whiny and I didn't really understand her. So she has a past. So does everyone else she is friends with. At times I just wanted her to stop with her poor me I want Jet, but I cannot have him because...well because she is afraid that if she is with him she will magically do all the horrible things she used to do. Yeah I don't know about her. She is not my favorite female character in this series. She makes stupid decisions for reasons I don't fully understand. I know she is afraid because of her past, especially when it starts showing up in town, but she just made me angry when she hurt Jet for no good reason. Instead of talking to him and telling him what is going on she keeps just trying to freeze him out. I just wanted to shake her like grow up! Use your words! No one will care about whatever secrets you have. Especially not Jet. By the end it was alright just because Jet got to be happy, and I liked Ayden alright for that reason, but she is still not my favorite. Still a good read even if I didn't like Ayden that much.

3 1/2 Stars for this.
He's no Rule, but I loved Jet!
Although I did enjoy 'Jet' it didn't captivate me as much as 'Rule' did. I read 'Rule' in one sitting and it took a few to get through 'Jet'
What I did like about Jet was the insight into Ayden and Jet's characters because they were two that I really enjoyed while reading the first one and I liked learning a bit more about the others too even though it wasn't much.
I loved the group, all of them. I love the little family they created with each other. It's what I really love in a book.
Of course we need some family drama and I felt so sorry for Ayden and what she had to put up with in her life and it made me love her more how much she changed for the better. Though I did wish she wouldn't have let her past interfere with her relationship with Jet to the extend that it did. I wish she just spoke to him about it but I'm glad in the end they found each other!!
And Rule and Shaw got a house!!! I really want more of those two. They have fast become my favorite book couple!

I loved Jet a whole lot. The conflict in this book was a little more unrealistic than the first. But I loved Ayden. These marked men are getting under my skin.
⭐2.5 stars⭐
I would rather be broke and do a job I love then wealthy working a nine-to-five any day.
Ugh.. Ayden's parts and character really ruined the book for me. I mean you can actually skip a huge part the book cuz it's just Ayden complaining about the same things over and over again. It just got old really fast..
I guess the whole story just didn't do it for me even if Jet was a sweetheart.. Hopefully Rome's book will be better :3
