Freakin good. It's kind of meant for sixth graders (I think). Night world in general was the best thing that happened to me in middle school, I'm now re-reading the series for nostalgia. You should read it minding the target audience, and if you do, it's wonderful.

This was a very quick read. A terminally ill girl is offered the chance at eternal life when her vampire friend reveals his "tendencies." I am reading the second book in the series now. The brother was annoying and cartoonish and the LOVE was never very believable between the characters. The ideas were interesting, however.

Reader had the most annoying voice! I got through it, but would've stopped with this book if they hadn't changed readers.
Otherwise, pretty standard stuff -- tweeny bopper paranormal romance, relatively minimal violence and no sex to speak of. Not great literature, but not dreadful. Fine for in-the-car listening-- memorable enough that when I listen to the next book in the series I remember the basics from previous ones, but not memorable enough for me to be able to write an individual review for each book months after I listened to them.
