**I'm not sure how to rate this one yet. I'm processing. It was really different. It had a lot to say about...us as humans and our lives and our world. But on the other hand--not too much happened in the book. It was entertaining enough, though. Very different, and I do appreciate that.

Based on the description I was prepared to really enjoy this book. However, I genuinely don’t understand the glowing reviews. It wasn’t funny. At all. I hated almost all the characters - ESPECIALLY the children. Those children were so. Annoying. I do not see the comparison to Douglas Adams and there was nothing uproarious about it. I might have slightly chuckled once. I have it one extra star for the cats. That is all.
