i enjoyed watching the various covers in the end
this actually also has a story from detective comics 27 by scott snyder, it seems he always had the idea of batman cloning himself in his mind and the story shows that side very well and we read in batman 50 about the machine that brought back batman it was intended for the clones as well.

Would've liked more time with Gordon as Batman.

Probably the finest hour for Snyder's Batman. Just a wonderful finale showcasing what makes Batman great, and the end of Jim Gordan as Batman. Also a great addition of Dectective Comics #27 added to the end of the book rounding out the whole thing. Great book, must read!

The plot is a complete mess, but it hits all the right notes at the right times (you'll forgive me for mixing metaphors). There are a few scenes that are really great, like when Batman finally returns to Gotham City, and several that make almost no sense at all. However, I'm inclined to be generous, and I enjoyed reading this penultimate volume of Scott Snyder's New 52 Batman.

Scott Snyder gets Batman. He understands the character in a way that some directors and actors don't.
Nearly every volume of the New 52 leads to putting the book down and really thinking about the concept of a comic book hero.
I have really enjoyed the extension to Jim Gordon. Near the end of the book he has this great line that is too perfect- referring to Batman, "He fights our nightmares to teach us to fight the real terrors by light of day. He believes in us, Geri...He believes we will save ourselves."
That line picks up this fictional hero and makes it real. He puts into words why I read Batman comics and why I run to every movie. That crazy bat-mask means something.
Loved this volume and the way it pulls everything together.

When Bloom proves to be too much for Jim Gordon, the new Batman, Bruce Wayne has to make a difficult choice...

Well, we knew the toys were going back into the box but Snyder does so in spectacular fashion. I don't think it's a spoiler to say we all knew Bruce Wayne would choose regaining his Batman memories over his happy life with Julie when Gotham was in danger. The story and art are top notch and I had a nerd boner when Bruce put on the cape and cowl again.

One more book left. I'll save my analysis of the entire run for then.

Messy, with plot elements appearing out of nowhere and a heavy lean on characters and events that happened outside the main run. Probably the worst arc in an otherwise incredible run.
