☕️Review☕️
This was such a cute story!! My first from this author and I adore a good stuck in a time loop storyline! This was different too because the perspective we see the story from is not the person stuck in the loop! It was a new take on things and I enjoyed that aspect of it. I liked seeing the story through our FMC’s eyes but it also being about the guy who thinks she is the key to getting unstuck from his time loop.
An easy read, I read through it in an afternoon and a fun one. I liked Gemma a lot and Jack, our resident time loop experiencer, was such a doll. The fact that he ran into her and met her hundreds of times while stuck in his loops and figured out she was the “anchor”, the key to getting out of it. I loved that he fell for her first and she was drawn to him and started wondering how she already knew him or feeling this extra pull to him.
I loved how they worked together, changed course a few times which then led to new discoveries and experiences on the repeated day which, in the end, got him out of his loop!
Super cute take on a time loop. I love a little
Magic in my romance books.

In this groundhog day style story, Gemma and/or Jack are stuck in a time loop, and as Gemma becomes aware of it, Jack is the only trying to help her get out. It's not clear by 25% in what the element to unlock is. I didn't find the writing or characters compelling, and when I came to sentence "Yes" he said factually and if it were no big deal" I cringed and put it down. DNF.
✨(eARC) Book Review✨
The Déjà Glitch by Holly James
Repeat after me: We don’t judge books by how long it takes to finish them. We don’t judge books by how long it takes to finish them. We don’t judge books by how long it takes to finish them.
Okay, great. So, despite it taking me literal months to get through this one, I had the best time reading it. It’s a fun, light-hearted rom com with a magical realism twist: our two main protagonists are stuck in a 24 hour time loop!
Gemma meets Jack. Though Jack has already met Gemma. Over and over again. Day after day. Because it’s the same day. Jack has a theory, though. They’ll both get unstuck as long as he can make Gemma fall in love with him. No biggie. The problem is—Gemma doesn’t know they’re stuck.
I liked Gemma and Jack quite a lot. In fact, all of the characters fit together well. I don’t have any big criticisms of this one. (Though the social media bit was borderline entitled and annoying.) But on the whole, this one was unbelievable in the right way, a little goofy, and overall really satisfying. I 100% would watch a movie version too.
This is best for fans of time-loops, strangers-to-lovers, and celebrity-adjacent drama.
Thanks to @duttonbooks and @netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Thank you to NetGallery for an early preview of this book.
I really enjoyed this book! The time loop was a fun new adventureand I thought the side characters were fleshed out well as well as Gemma and Jack.
I do wish at the end we had a little more time with Gemma’s dad and brother but it’s a minor note. Overall I found this a very fun, light read.

Thank you to the author, publisher and Net Galley for providing a free ARC copy of this book for my review.
Overall, this was a cute rom-com style book, but it was a bit over explained in places. You really have to suspend belief for most of the book to enjoy the story overall. Trying to re-invent Groundhog's Day yet again doesn't really work very well in this one.
2 stars for it was ok.

Jack has been living the same day over and over for 155 days, but he only has twenty four hours to convince Gemma of who he is and to fall in love with him, since she has no idea who he is. Gemma and Jack are stuck in a time loop where Jack is the only one who remembers that the day is repeating. How will he get the woman he's fallen in love with to remember him?
I was superrrrr wary of this book. Especially because a time loop/”groundhog day” situation is usually not something I'm into. I find it repetitive and boring. But Holly James dud a phenomenal job with this story. The whole book takes place in twenty four hours. Its a jam packed day for these characters. I also usually like a slow burn over time and to be able to get used to my characters but again James had me caring for these characters, especially besties Gemma and Leila. This book is 100% lighthearted, fun, and will make you feel so warm inside.
Thank you to Netgalley and Holly James for allowing me to read an Arc of this book. The book comes out on June 6th 2023! I cannot wait to hear what the world thinks about Gemma and Jack, I know I loved them.

I feel kind of bad only giving this 2 stars, but I just couldn’t get through it! I tried so hard because I’m a sucker for time loops, but I had to throw in the towel at about 60%.
Every character rubbed me the wrong way.
The FMC was a drama queen, but also everyone in her life gaslit her, and undermined her feelings and experiences…so no one was great!

The Deja Glitch is very similar to Groundhog Day but with an LA twist. The story is Jack has been stuck in a time loop reliving the same day for 5 months, and Gemma is the object of his affection. Jack has been trying to get Gemma to remember him the whole time, he also seems to be having some memory issues as well. I liked the characters and the way the story developed, liked the descriptions of Los Angeles (particularly the Hollywood Bowl) but I did have lots of questions. It sounded like a lot of love for so few dates they actually had in those 5 months, it seemed like there was a lot of faith needed on her part, and I just wasnt sure i loved it as much as I had hoped. It was enjoyable and a relatively quick read so I do recommend it.
Cute romcom time loop with good character development! Adorable movie romance
