I received a copy of this story from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
The thing about books in the time-travel or time-bending genre is that they almost always focus on the logistical time warp element. But this beautiful gem treats it more like magical realism and effing RUNS with it in the best way!
Seriously, this book is so, so good.
It has everything I love: a time loop, romance (though fairly clean), personal development, estranged familial relationships, and chaos. It's deliciously woven together to keep you guessing and to keep you wanting more. Because the time loop was just generally accepted as true -- yes, there's a scene to try to explain it -- I never felt like I knew 100% for sure what was going to happen next. Mad props to Holly for the complexity and interconnectedness of everything!
The characters are brilliant and lovely, the pacing is perfect, the premise is *chef's kiss*
I think little champagne bubbles of happiness will be effervescing within me for a while after reading this book.

The time loop aspect of the plot rally interested me in reading this romance novel. At some points the characters felt a little flat, and for a book with a time loop plot some things still felt a little unrealistic. Despite that it was still a good read. Overall, I enjoyed it as a cute, quick and easy romance novel to read.
Do you believe people can fall in love in 24 hours? What if they had to in order to break a time glitch that’s had one of them stuck in the same day for one hundred and forty seven days?
When Gemma Peters crashes into Jack one Thursday morning at a coffee shop, she thinks it’s nothing more than an inconvenience (and her favorite shirt ruined). But for him, it’s another chance to get her to fall in love with him. Throughout the day, Jack tests a theory and tries to get Gemma to fall in love with him so they can break out of the loop.
I absolutely loved this book. It made me wish that I could, like Jack and Gemma, be stuck in a loop where I get to experience The Déjà Glitch for the first time over and over again. I loved seeing how one seemingly small decision, event, and person can change the trajectory of someone’s life.
Thank you to Netgally and Penguin Group Dutton for the eARC of this book! I can’t wait to pick up a copy when it’s published.

Thank you Dutton for the copy of the Deja Glitch. Consider me a fan of Holly James, I was surprised in a good way by Nothing But The Truth with how it approached the I can't tell a lie trope and here I got to enjoy her take on the time loop/Groundhog day trope. I really like an author who can find a way to take a popular, and loved, trope and make it their own and James is good at this, little notes of depth and nuance make the plot stronger and the themes more discussion worthy than they could be a in a more skim the surface type read.
looking for a quick but satisfying romance for the end of the summer? Something for a book club that's fun, not too long, but good for discussion? Here you go!
I look forward to Holly James next read.

The Deja Glitch by Holly James
Gemma wakes up one morning and has a eerie feeling that she experienced this day before. Then, she runs into Jack who explains to her that he has been stuck in a 24 hour time-loop and she is the only constant. So he needs her help to break out of the time loop. As they try to survive the day, they both run into own inner demons, face challenging conversations, and overcome their struggles.
What a unique rom-com premise! This one was anything but boring! The real-star of this book has to be Lily (Gemma’s best friend) and could use a sequel with Lily! I didn’t think I would enjoy the concept of time-loop but James made it very interesting. I loved Jack, he seemed so sweet and it took me sometime to like Gemma. This was such a cute, nerdy, romantic, hilarious novel! Hope you enjoy!

I love a good time loop story, but i wish it took place over a few more days of the time loop and not just the final loop
I really really enjoyed this! Think Groundhog Day meets Love Actually? Or something romcom-y with a bunch of side characters in the entertainment industry. Absolutely zero spice, for those of you looking for that in your romedies, a few kisses and a light description of vagueness in bedroomness ... But it is very sweet and enjoyable. In the ARC there was one thing that made zero sense and I hope it's fixed before the final comes out ... But that's why they get read, right?
