Good! Fun story and well told. Doesn’t make me want to reread but at least I wasn’t disappointed
A Deja Vu/Groundhogs Day concept is hard to pull off but The Deja Glitch does it very successfully! I thought it was great that the reader wasn't reading all 147 days that Jack has lived through but rather only the one day when he decides to convince Gemma that she is the key to breaking his loop. Love at first sight isn't a theme that I love but in this case James does a great job showing us how Jack has fallen in love with Gemma over the course of the five months he has relived the same day.
This is a romantic and Hallmark-y romance novel, not spicy at all, that is very well-written and all of the characters, even the secondary characters like Lila and Gemma's father and brother, are well developed. I have not read other books by this author but I am definitely interested in doing so after reading this book!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this ARC.

This is like Groundhog's Day meets Get Him to the Greek. Jack has been stuck in the same day for 142 days and Gemma is the key. I mean, I'm not for instalove, but this isn't really that since jack has been laying the groundwork and dating Gemma for 142 days, so it gets a pass.
It's a sweet story that doesn't solely focus on the romance. It's mostly about all the various ways a day can go depending on the decisions you make. How different relationships can be based on the conversations had or not had. The Butterfly Effect.
The entire book takes place during one day which was nice, but I feel like it would've had a little more depth if it started with one or two days on repeat for Gemma with the deja vu just getting stronger and stronger. However, since the book is mostly Gemma's POV (Jack finally gets a chapter towards the end) that might not have made sense.
Overall I enjoyed the book and it was a cute, quick read.

this was better than i expected! a very enjoyable audiobook! groundhog day x rom com was not a combo i thought i would enjoy this much but the characters were so lovable (especially rex) that i found myself extending dog walks and car rides just to listen to more!
This was such an interesting and fun book. I really liked the premise and the execution.
I enjoyed seeing Jack work to convince Gemma that he is stuck in a time loop and the only way out is for her to fall in love with him. I liked seeing the travel across LA to try to solve the problem and also get to know each other more (though it felt unrealistic that they’d get everywhere in one day since they went ALL over).
These were some funny scenes and I really loved the ones with Gemma and her best friend, Lila.
Definitely recommend.

I actually really enjoyed this! You couldn’t help but root for Jack. It was fast paced enough to keep it interesting and written well!

this was my first time loop book and i really enjoyed it! it’s one of those storylines that feels like a movie as you read.
jack has been trapped in a time loop for almost 150 days and he doesn’t know why or how he got there. throughout this time loop, he has countless run ins with gemma and ends up falling for her while reliving the same day over and over again. jack starts to believe that gemma is the key to ending his time loop, and each new day he tries to make gemma fall for him to become unstuck.
the story follows the big day where everything changes and jack covinces gemma to fall in love with him and they break the loop.
1. so much happened in this one day, idk how they had all that time.
2. lila is the cutest bestie to gemma and i loved there dynamic.
3. jack is an angel baby who truly can’t do anything wrong and just lived almost 150 days refalling for a girl who couldn’t remember him the next day with no regrets and the HOPE that one day she would love him back.
i think this is a super cute book and it was very enjoyable for me. nothing gave me the ick which is cool because it’s such an oddly specific THEME where i feel like a lot could’ve ended up poorly executed. i genuinely loved the characters and the storyline a whole lot.

This romance turns the typical time loop narrative on its side, in that it is presented primarily from the POV of someone who is unaware the loop is happening. Imagine if Groundhog Day had followed Andie McDowell's character rather than Bill Murray's--that's what this is like.
Only, as it turns out, it's not just the guy (Jack) who has lived through 146 versions of the same day that needs to make some life changes. It's the woman (Gemma) he's fallen in love with over those five months that also needs to zig where she's been zagging. The book opens with Gemma and Jack meeting in a bar during Gemma's best friend Lila's birthday celebration. After a great conversation, Jack and Gemma kiss, and Jack implores her to remember him. Cut to the next morning, when Gemma wakes up on Lila's birthday, with no memory that she lived that experience already. She starts to experience deja vu, and when she runs into a handsome man in a coffee shop and he tells her that, yes, they have met before and that he knows her well, she has to set aside her skepticism and take a leap of faith so that she and Jack can set break the time loop.
We followed Gemma over the course of the day as she and Jack continue to come together and get thrown apart by circumstances and mistrust--all the while, with Gemma's feelings for him growing. Gemma meanwhile begins to make changes in her life that deviate from all the copycat days before that just maybe will set her on a better path in life.
It's a perfect sweet novel that would have benefited more from Jack's perspective, which we don't really experience until the end. It's not always clear why Gemma thinks she's falling in love with him, given that to her, it's been mere hours since she first met him. And we miss all the past moments in which he developed feelings for her, so we get more telling than showing that this is more than just insta-love. (Although there are a lot of love-at-first-sight, "the earth tilted" type of descriptors used to depict their first encounter.)
All in all, this works best if you think of this as a young woman getting her shit together (which involves a bit of romance) rather than a romance novel.
I received an advance reader copy from Netgalley for an honest review.

This was a cute rom-com. Overall I enjoyed it, though at times I found myself skimming through parts because it seemed like some of the details didn’t add value to my enjoyment of the story.
I loved the concept of the time loop and finding a way out of the loop through falling in love. I enjoyed the characters, especially the friendship between Gemma and Lila as well as Gemma’s relationship with her brother. I would have loved more insight from Jack. The relationship between Jack and Gemma was believable but was missing a bit of a spark, in my opinion.
Definitely a fun read and one I would recommend to fans of rom-com. This was my first Holly James book, and I’ll definitely check out others by this author.
