The Host

3.71 AVERAGE

This book should be just as famous as Stephanie Meyer's other series, Twilight.
This book shows our world's future when alein organisms take over. The aliens use the human bodies as their own (the humans are "hosts", hence the title.)There are few humans without aliens in them left. Melanie is one of those few. She is captured, and she becomes a host.
With most cases, the human is completely gone and the alien controls the body. However, Melanie is still there inside her body, and the host, Wanderer, is disturbed when she discovers that her host is still there, talking to her, and wishing she was gone.
Though at some times confusing, The Host is a wonderful book. One complaint that I have, on the other hand, is that Wanderer is just as whiny and needy as Bella is in Twilight.

Just my yearly reread. This book is always a fave of mine.

DID NOT FINISH: 32%

i tried to fill the Twilight filled hole left in my heart by reading something else by Stephenie Meyer, but this was rough. i kept having to reread entire pages cause my brain was clocking out. not to mention there was a random romance between a 17 and 26 year old, which wasn’t my personal fav. maybe in another life id enjoy this, but i’ll stick to rereading twilight for now.
