This was not my normal genre, but I actually really enjoyed the book!
i tried to fill the Twilight filled hole left in my heart by reading something else by Stephenie Meyer, but this was rough. i kept having to reread entire pages cause my brain was clocking out. not to mention there was a random romance between a 17 and 26 year old, which wasn’t my personal fav. maybe in another life id enjoy this, but i’ll stick to rereading twilight for now.
Snad ta nejúžasnější kniha jakou jsem kdy četla :) Opravdu doporučuji... a pak se i podívejte na film :)

At first I thought: okay another story that will end up with the world being conquered and we will all surrender. Hell I was so wrong, this book is so much more: love, fantasy, and so much more. The writing style is so much more different from the Twilight series and almost more intriguing. Stephenie really did an awesome job writing this book.
I‘m sorry, but nobody can convince me that this isn’t one of the greatest books ever. Ian and Wanda started the “Would you love me if I was a worm?” discourse. Nothing will ever compare to this book. Nothing will ever compare to the feelings I’ve come to experience.
I’ve been re reading this masterpiece since I was fourteen. And I will continue!!! My comfort book. Like ever.

Not as good as I remembered it from my first read in high school. Felt very slow this time around. My favorite part is the world building of the alien culture. Maybe SM made them communist-esque to make them seem scarier, but it just makes me like them more. Sure, they snatch our bodies, but they've healed all illness and abolished money? I'm in.
I really did love the background story of this novel; end of the world stories never get old, especially when there is a little bit of hope thrown into the mix. My only real problem with this book was the romance plot and how eerily similar it was to Twilight. Meyer should really try writing something that doesn't involve two men fighting over the same person (or body in this case). A very good read over all and I would most definitely recommend this book to others.
