Wonderful book to finish this series! Loved how it didn't have a 'typical' romance story line.
I’ve only read one book in this series, One Sexy Ride, but I remember really enjoying it and loving the Thompson family. After reading Troy’s story I’m going to have to go read the entire series so that I can see him with the understanding of his character that we get here :)
Troy's problem is that there is so much more to him than anyone recognizes and I find that kinda sad. He’s so in tuned to everyone around him but those same people miss so much about who he is and what he does for them. And unfortunately that includes Nicole. But that’s going to change with Troy’s full on attack once he decides they are perfect together.
I really enjoyed the fact that once again I get to enjoy a mostly drama free read. The troubles they experience are believable and realistic, and even better they handle them in a logical way. None of it is over the top or drags on too long. The conflict is pretty straight to the point – Nicole has to decide if she is willing to take a chance on Troy, regardless of what kind of reputation he has. It’s full of touching moments and wow-baby heat, with a sexy, cheeky hero and the heroine he’s set his mind on winning. We should all be so lucky!

A Wild Ride follows the youngest Thompson brother, Troy, as he tries to convince Nicole that he is ready to settle down.
Troy and Nicole started out as friends with benefits. Their "relationship" had to be kept a secret since Nic is his best friend's twin sister. When she decides she wants more and is ready to settle down, get married and have children, she breaks up with Troy for no reason.
Her first date is a co-worker of one of her brothers-in-law. He is a nice guy, but a little dull. His idea of an exciting date is playing Monopoly after dinner. While setting up for the game, Troy drops by. He ends up crashing her date.
Her second date is another co-worker of one of her brothers-in-law. When they have car troubles, Troy gets the tow call and heads out (not knowing that Nic is there). When he gets there and she finally tells him what the date has done and said, Troy puts her in the tow truck and leaves. Without the car. When she tells her brother-in-law what happened, he gets the guy transferred away from Rocky Mountain.
Next, Nic goes to a speed dating event. Her first "date" is a dud. Her second "date" is, yep you guessed it, Troy. He is trying to prove to her that he heard her and he is ready for everything she wants.
When they finally sit down and have a long conversation, she realizes she does not know him as well as she thought she did. He tells her things he has never told anyone, not even his own family, and he swears her to secrecy.
Over the next little while, they share their secrets, dreams, hopes and love. But when a tragedy prevents him from meeting her as planned, will she decide he is back to his playboy ways? Or will she know him well enough to know something is wrong and he needs help?
Oh, and about the twin brother. Yeah, just wait for the confrontation between him and Troy. But I must admit I did not appreciate Nic's sisters treating Troy like a mistake she is making and she could do better. When the constant yammering comes to a head, will Nic still be speaking to her sisters? Or will her relationship with her family be forever altered?
As the final book in this series, Tatiana Sokolov finishes up with a bang. She brings out all of the emotions that are running through all of the characters.

I really enjoyed this one! I loved Troy and Nicole and watching them come together. Troy quickly figured out that he wanted a real shot with Nicole when she told him that she was ending what they had in order to find something serious and settle down. Troy definitely had to put some thought and work into convincing Nicole to give him a shot, that he could change and wasn't just a fun, impulsive, fancy free individual that couldn't be serious or want something serious. I loved as Troy opened himself up to Nicole to let her see the deeper side of things, the sides of himself that he had kept hidden and quiet. Nicole finally starting see the deeper sides of Troy and the different way that he cared for and helped his family and those around him. He didn't need to be obvious about it or get the credit, he just did what they needed. I was engaged with the story and these characters the whole time and really enjoyed it. It held my attention easily throughout and I was really rooting for Troy to end up with Nicole and for Nicole to realize that she didn't have to change too much in order to find the right person for her and to move forward with the next steps of life. This story was well written and a great read. I loved getting to see how the rest of the Thompsons were doing as well.
The narrator did a great job with this and adding that extra dynamic to the story to bring it to life.

This is the kind of story you don't ever want to end!
The side story of the Thompson family has come to an end, and the ending though bittersweet was a wonderful read. This series is actually a spin-off of the Six Pack Ranch/Rocky Mountain House series and focuses on the Thompson family that runs the local garage. Each of the four brothers and their little sister have all found love now, some in the most unlikely of places, and have started their own families. Troy is the last Thompson to fall and when he does it happens in a big way. Troy and Nicole have been fooling around in secret for months now, without even their families knowing what’s going on, but when Nicole is ready for the next step in her life she immediately dismisses Troy as a part of that future. But no one dismisses a Thompson male and Troy is determined to prove to her that he is the perfect man for her. Nicole is the type of heroine that makes you wonder; she seems shallow at first, unwilling to look deeper into the one man she actually has chemistry with, just because he doesn’t seem to be the perfect type of man and allows her fears of what others might think to keep her away. Once she gives Troy a chance and actually takes the time to really observe how he interacts with family and friends, she sees the deeply loving and sacrificing man he is and comes to know that she could make a life with him. That knowledge gives her the backbone to stand up to anyone, including her own judgmental family because she knows the truth of her man and that’s all that matters. Troy was the subtle hero, the man that everyone counts on without realizing they do. He gives everyone he loves what they crave to be happy, changing his personality to meet the needs of those people and has been doing so since he was a kid. Getting to see the true Troy as he falls in love with Nic was fascinating as even she didn’t know that side of him until he decided to stop hiding his light behind the lights of his family. This story was packed with passion, chemistry, sweetness, laughter, and love. Even in moments when the world is crumbling around these two and their fears are at their highest, they find a way to laugh and smile for each other, and that to me is the ultimate expression of love. I was sad to see this story end, but alas there are only so many brothers in this family, unlike the extended Coleman family. I am looking forward to seeing glimpses of the family in future Rocky Mountain House stories as they blend and interact with the Colemans, and maybe down the road Vivian will revisit the Thompsons for a small update on the family. Another hit Ms. Arend, but no surprise there.
