I'm an anxious mentally ill lesbian who has never been to church and thinks about death constantly, but despite it all I reallllyyyy did not like this book. Idk who described this as funny or witty, but I did not understand the humor at all. It was just deeply spirally and sad, but not sad in a touching way, it was hard to get through. The writing jumps a lot, so much so that it's hard to understand where/when this is all happening. I almost decided not to finish it but carried out hope that there would be character development- and there was... it was just short, unexplained, and rushed at the end 😭 .5 instead of 0 because I do like the premise/idea of this book. But -4.5 from the 2d characters and how difficult it was to get through. There was very little to no nuance about things like Christianity, or spirit animals, or being quote unquote 'crippled', or honestly even lesbianism. Sigh
