I absolutely loved the blunt humor of this book. I somehow resonated with the absurd, reflective thoughts about the world of the protagonist's internal dialogue. Like how cute it actually is that humans have hospitals as we would find it immensely cute if other animal species create infrastructure around helping other hurt animals. The first half was very funny but the second half got very weird (still liked that part) - everything got very messy and absurd as the protagonist is going through some mental health problems and the mental state of the person was reflected in the writing style.
I found a lot of the thoughts very relatable and maybe I should be concerned by that.

i appreciated the straightforward writing style and approach to mental illness. i can see many people finding themselves in the MC or her family. tw for panic attacks, suicide, and other mental health issues.
part 2 of my mission to read my entire physical tbr before i buy a new book. this is my gf’s fav book! really funny but equally disturbing. it’s nice to know that i could be having truly shittiest day possible but gilda is probably doing worse than me 🫶

Was a tough book to read for an existential girlie but ultimately I liked it. Wouldn’t recommend it persay
This book emotionally destroyed me, I don’t think I could read it again, and I probably won’t ever recommend it to anyone but wow it was a masterpiece. The most raw portrayal of anxiety, depression, and panic disorder I’ve ever read. Triggering as hell, but wildly beautiful.
