I'm torn between 2 and 3 stars. It read quickly, and I kind of liked it, but it was written very oddly and I don't really get it.

I gave this book a 4.25 because Jane, the main character, struggles to find someone who will love her correctly. During this book, there were many hardships she had to overcome like her dad and aunt dying along with getting cancer. This book is definitely for older teenagers/young adults, but The Girls' Guide to Hunting and Fishing is a good book to read when struggling to find your true self.

It feels like I read like 5 short stories just all done in the same style with only mild connection between them. Some parts were definitely better than others but I think the ending was not what I would have ended with- the parts about her father were much more meaningful for me. I do like the idea of seeing someone’s whole life more or less but there were some parts that truly felt irrelevant or disconnected or out of order from everything else and it was confusing. Not to mention that one weird bit where it suddenly switched from first to second person. I’m not sure it was my cup of tea- though it was enjoyable enough to finish.
