I don't think this novel was as bas as everyone was making it out to be, just to be entirely honest. ~ I really just wanted a lot of one-on-one's with Raven.

This was a really cute book for teens, and you don't really need to know the Titans a lot for it to be cute, but if you do, there's a lot of funny little bits. I also loved how she retained the messy goth aesthetic throughout.
[a:Mariko Tamaki|483588|Mariko Tamaki|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1387259250p2/483588.jpg] is an incredible writer, and [a:Yoshi Yoshitani|17587209|Yoshi Yoshitani|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1583794463p2/17587209.jpg] is an incredible artist. Between the two of them, this book was an immediate buy for me, even though I'm not a huge Starfire fan.
This story centers on Starfire's teenage daughter, Mandy, who feels alienated (lol) from her schoolmates and her mother. She doesn't want to be the child of a celebrity, and she doesn't want to be a super hero. Throughout the story, she allows herself to open up to others, and finds herself and her power in the process.
I do prefer Tamaki's [b:She-Hulk, Volume 1: Deconstructed|32940366|She-Hulk, Volume 1 Deconstructed|Mariko Tamaki|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1498945627l/32940366._SY75_.jpg|53561800] and [b:Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me|40864841|Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me|Mariko Tamaki|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1539096588l/40864841._SX50_.jpg|50380585], and Yoshitani's [b:Zatanna & the House of Secrets|50019706|Zatanna & the House of Secrets|Matthew Cody|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1561467389l/50019706._SX50_SY75_.jpg|71637773], but this one is also very nice.

I was not sure what to expect with this one as I just saw it, I picked it up from the library. I am a fan of Teen Titans and have been enjoying the graphic novels on the Titans so that is why this caught my eye.
I appreciate this book have curvy/plus size and LGBTQIA+representation. Though it mentions but never clarifies... there are some small hints to the question of parentage. I hope maybe there is more about Mandy and can go into that a little.

Super cute! I loved that it didn't try to fit exactly into the DC Universe (as some of the others in this imprint do) but let it be its own story. Maybe the villain coming out of no where was a little too quick, but it fit right in with a comic trope, so! Overall, I was happy with the story and the art was great.
