Heartstopper Volume 3

Alice Oseman

4.55 AVERAGE

i love this so much. it deals with issues that are really close to me that have affected me a lot. i’ve never felt seen in books like i have in ‘heartstopper’. charlie’s character especially makes me feel so represented. i can’t wait for the next volume!!

that's it time to invest in the entire Alice oseman universe

good. objectively good. indubitably good. but im biased in the negative. i think this one was just a lot for me, right now, in this moment of life, at 3:09 in the morning in the middle of February. i think that i could take it better, could see its light, in a different context. the removal from the traditional school setting and resituating the bulk of the story in pairs was a nice change from the traditional formulation these texts take. additionally, i think getting the depth of the characters between nicks struggles with his dad and charlie's struggles with eating was a good insight and showed growth in the story as opposed to it staying stagnant. i think it set up future texts quite well, despite being..a lot. 3.75 stars, just out of bias. but objectively good.

For some reason, I didn't enjoy this volume as much as the first two... Maybe it's because I've now watched the show? Season 2 of Heart stopper (which is adapted from this volume) was my least favourite of the 3 seasons, so maybe it altered my view slightly.
It was still good, but it just felt a little empty and like things were moving a little too quickly. The pacing was a little off and there's something about the storyline that just didn't interest me. This volume just feels like it's set up for what's to come, which isn't a bad thing, but it can just fill you with this feeling of knowing you haven't reached the good part of the story yet.

so, I haven't slept. Like at all.
But I regret nothing.
I love this so much. Can't wait for V. 4

my favorite volume yet.

the more i read about nick and charlie’s relationship, the more i fall in love with them. the way they communicate and confide in each other is just so refreshing

p.s. charlie is so precious and needs to be protected. i can already kind of see where his story is going and it breaks my heart

p.p.s. i love darcy, she has the best lines

Loved this book and the issues and relationships it’s tackling ah! I can’t wait for the next one and I’m so sad it’s so far out.

Also I love the universe this book is in with Alex Last as the host of Radio Silence being a character in this book. That made me so happy to see.

(it's a tad too triggering for the fifth star...)

Just a few bullet points:
. Darcy is my favourite character, FIGHT ME
. Get it on teachers, we see your gay. We see it and we ship it.
. Charlie and Nick =

Probably my favorite one!
