Sigh. I read this. I'm not sure I particularly want to admit that to everyone I'm connected with on Goodreads, but damnit, I set a 50 book goal for this one and every book counts, even the terrible ones.

It's not the worst book I've read this year, I guess? I'm just definitely not the intended audience for this one. I don't so much mind the Bizarro aspect of it, honestly; I'm not adverse to weird and even grotesque books (I'm looking at you, Lapvona!). I can even appreciate the concept, which is pretty original and (if I'm being honest) kinda hilarious.

What I didn't particularly care for was the literal reduction of a female character to her sex organs by a male author. That was an especially gross match with the male narrator's rising antipathy towards all other aspects of the woman whose sex organs he was inhabiting, which are set against the backdrop of his developing a more intimate connection with the only other female character, who I can describe only as infantile. I got a dim sense that it was maybe supposed to make me think? Unfortunately, as a longtime, card-carrying feminist killjoy, I don't really need to get inside some dude's head to be hyper-aware of objectification of women's bodies and the hypersexualization of young girls by men who are old enough to know better. Whomp whomp.

But hey! The author tried, and for that: two stars. I'm sure there's a sliver of the population who (a) would find those themes totally mind-blowing and (b) are capable of reading words with more than one syllable from a book with no pictures. To those folks: enjoy, boys!

What the actual fuck?!

this was bad, just straight up bad. 2 stars because i chuckled initially but it got quite boring and actually tried to have a plot which i didnt care about. the weirdness just made less and less sense it was a bit overkill, would not recommend.

What the hell did I just read?!
A very short but odd book. This story needed to be developed more, with less of an abrupt ending. I am struggling to put into words what I read and to review it. The story line is very bizarre but almost humorous.

Elements near the start are almost slapstick, but then it kicks into a surreal adventure of the haunted vagina that's pretty good, but certainly not the best of Mellick's work.
adventurous funny mysterious fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

No one can judge me for rating a book titled The Haunted Vagina so high okay.
Was it the best literary wise, god no.
But was I smiling and cackling the entire time I read it? Absolutely!

I've read a lot of weird novels, but nothing as bizarre and as wholesome as one where a man climbs into his girlfriend's haunted vagina.
I genuinely do not know what else to say about this book. It was wild, hilarious, unpredictable, chaotic, absolutely bizarre! But I'm obsessed with how much fun it was to read!!

I went in expecting dark smut. Instead, I got a wholesome, cartoon town horror that had me craiced up!!

I think I found my new favourite genre of writing! I have no idea what it is, but it's Carlton Mellick III's writing, and I'm living for the chaos of it all!

(Bonus points because there's also a pet humanoid skeleton dog that nibbles on toes and waffles his tail bone)

ojapierdole co to było, zryło mi potężnie łeb, nie jestem w stanie tego ocenić gwiazdkowo, autor było definitywnie naćpany pisząc to
