lmao

ok as far as bizarro goes this was definitely bizarre. so bad it was almost funny, but definitely not the worst thing ive ever read. what a time

i really wanted to like this but unfortunately, no lol. one star for creativity i guess??

I’d like to thank alex for this recommendation. I gave it 5 stars because I literally just bought it and devoured it in an hour. The author is hilarious and I’m looking forward to reading more of his work.

Obviously, by the title you can get the gist of the story line. This gal has a haunted vagina. She has the boyfriend of the year though and talks him into going to explore her haunted vagina to see what’s happening. He’s terrified, but he loves her. How sweet right?! It gets complicated while he’s in exploring and I don’t want to say spoilers so I’ll leave it at that.

This book was fun, you should totally read it.

I had no clue what to expect from this... I bought it because of the title and because I needed to know what it was about.

Like the title mentions, Stacy’s vagina is haunted. However, her vagina is also a portal to another world. If that doesn’t sell you, I don’t know what will.

This story was so creative! While some parts were a little too much for me, it was fun. Sometimes it’s really nice reading something that completely takes you away from the real world. This was that book for me!

This book was so unique and so much fun! It definitely sparked my interest in reading more by Carlton Mellick. 5 crazy stars!

I picked this book up after it went circulating around one of my reading groups, mostly as a joke, so I wasn't expecting much. I looked at the number of reviews, and at how many stars it had, so I was expecting more. I decided to go for it. I regret it. This was the weirdest book I've ever read. I spent a lot of my reading time shouting "No! Don't go in there!" and feeling very strange about it.

I had difficulty suspending belief on this one. I just couldn't get the idea of the book in my brain.
funny lighthearted mysterious fast-paced
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: N/A

I’m an English major but the last thing I’ll ever be is a “literary snob.” I think a lot of people will scoff and turn their nose up at a book like this, but I think there’s a great value and a lot of things to unpack when it comes to the freakishly absurd.

Steve’s girlfriend’s vagina is haunted and becomes a doorway to a new dimension. This book certainly follows what many horror stories do and that’s Othering the female. What is it about the female that scares men so much? Look at Carrie, The Exorcist, The Ring, Jennifer’s Body, what do these stories all have in common? Mellick puts a bizzaro twist on the ‘monstrous female’ narrative we see in so many horror staples and I can’t wait to dig into more of Mellick’s bizarre stories!

It wasn't my cup of tea. It was certainly bizarre and while I usually enjoy things that are "out there" this one was just a bit too much and so it was hard for me to stay with the story. I got easily distracted.

It was well written for what it was, but the story didn't hold me and I had to work to finish it.
