Summer Reading 2024 - Published the Year You Were Born
Every few years, I try a Stephen King novel to see if my feelings have changed. They never do. He has interesting ideas, but his execution of them always misses for me. Starting with: has he ever met a 9 year old girl? This is not how they talk or behave. 12-15, sure. But NINE????? Absolutely not! Still, I like a survivor story and I got to see a black bear, so huge win for me

I didn't really vibe with this - just never felt particularly connected to Trisha or her struggle to survive. The entire plot is pretty straightforward and I wish it was less of a play-by-play of what was happening in the forest.

I picked this book to read in Senior English. I laugh inside as the Seniors moan about how hard it will be to read 250 pages each nine weeks. I read this ONLY while at school. It was an easy read and very enjoyable. It was a little different than many of Stephen King's books. It was kind of a "Goosebumps" version of Stephen King. I am going to recommend this one to my students, especially those who like baseball/softball and hiking.

Probably my least favorite Stephen King book.
I found it to be pretty boring. I think this would only be scary if you’re a kid with a fear of getting lost in the woods.

My second Stephen king after pet semetery. I thought i was gonna hate it but it was really good
