I have read several of Stephen King’s books, and this one looked like it would bring something different than his usual horror/psychological thriller genre. It certainly did but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I had hoped. I did enjoy the survivalist type story, featuring a young and determined girl as the main character, but the book was a little boring overall for me. Took a chance on it, was just ok for me.

Trisha gets lost in the woods during a family outing; it takes all her wits and a fan-crush on Tom Gordon to help her survive. Personally, this is the second Stephen King I've read and I was not impressed. The build-up didn't equal the climax of the book. I did find the internal dialogue intriguing. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys survival stories.

Girl goes hiking in the woods with her mother and brother. Mother and brother get on girl's nerves with their constant arguing, so girl wanders unnoticeable away from them and gets lost going off trail. A week later, with the help of her guardian angel, Boston Sox relief pitcher Tom Gordon, she wanders onto a farm. Not much of a plot.
