Ok starting off with the good - this book made me laugh and I liked the story itself BUT the writing was not my cup of tea. None of these characters talked like real people. And don’t even get me started on the magical business that took off over night for such an obscure market!! But its biggest flaw was in the romance itself… if you’re going to write a romance novel give me tension, give me chemistry, give me SOMETHING but this gave all of nothing. I really wanted to like this one but I was so glad when it was finally over.

This was such a fun read with the theme of self empowerment and improvement. To call this a romance is not exactly right. Of course, there is some light and clean romance but it does not appear at the forefront. This is closer to contemporary fiction.

Jessie is an investment banker on Wall Street who is successful until she is fired without notice. There is rampant sexism and racism at her office and it's highlighted well by her author. She is sad and angry at first and then while crashing at her childhood home, she revives her YouTube channel which focuses on cooking. This presents a great career opportunity and her channel becomes a hit after an accidental interference by her mother during a live stream.

Daniel Choi is the epitome of perfection and success. He's the one every kid is compared to. He's a venture capitalist and a lawyer as well. He doesn't look the same now and he's got a sense of humour which Jessie falls for. There are some hiccups along the way and they regroup and Jessie reflects on what's important to her.

This was such a page turner and light for the most part. The issues highlighted in this book were very important for most women in corporate settings. A recommended read!

"Bryan's cute. I think he's your type. I can keep Daniel occupied despite the torture."
"Daniel would love that," a baritone answered.
i'd say this is more of a coming-of-age book with side romance BUT i really really liked it!! i loved jessie and her family and obvi daniel choi was so

This is the second book I have read from author, Suzanne Park. My first adult book. I have to say that I loved this book better than the YA one. Not that the YA book was not good but I just could relate better to the characters in this story.

Jess may be one of the main characters in this story but it is her mom and dad that really were the break out stars for me. Props to the parents. It was like I could see the cooking videos playing out for real life in my head as I was reading this book. I was laughing so much.

This is such a fun, enjoyable read. Much love from one Asian to another. It is great to see more Asian characters portrayed in books.

Warning: You may experience hangry pains while reading this book!

I thoroughly enjoyed this light on love but heavy on food and self-discovery story featuring Jessie Kim as she pivots after getting let go from her corporate banking job and builds her own online Korean cooking franchise. Full of heart, humor and so much delicious food descriptions. I was rooting for Jessie to find her voice, let go of self-doubt and negative self-talk and embrace her entrepreneurial dreams. Great on audio read by Jackie Chung and perfect for anyone looking for inspiration to change careers and try something new and a little scary!

It’s always hard to be the book that follows the book that gave your reader a solid book hangover. I was all the feels and then some after reading We Begin at the End and I needed a solid rom-com to turn my mood around…and I picked up the right book! I gobbled up Suzanne Park’s latest novel So We Meet Again in under 2 days. It was so freaking cute!

I’m still feeling my feels from the previous so I may just start SWMA all over again
