A good, comprehensive understanding of the creation of Zionism and the relationship between Israel and Palestine. While sometimes it was a bit difficult to stay in the moment because it was literally a transcript, it was a quick and helpful read, and i did appreciate it being more conversational at points because it made the information a little more digestible and easy to understand. It also made me want to read more work from Ilan Pappé in the future

an excellent crash course on the complexities of history on current policies in Palestine. Unfortunately there is currently another prolonged genocide unfolding at the hands of the tyrannical Netanyahu.

The book was a good read, but felt like there was no end of sight- although its logical, the same is mirrored in the conflict. Although I disliked the self called pessimism passed on as "pragmatism/realism" in terms of solutions, I did not put the book down as it comes from a very self-critical IR perspective.  This feels like an essential for anyone studying the topic of international relations and is amazing at highlighting how useless many of these institutional charades are. It was painstaking to see the lack of  any kind of other perspective (As in approach of something more radical), but it provided a critical overview of the repetitive failures of ceasefire agreements along with feedback on  approaches used by western activists that we would still be re missed to not pay attention to.
