Great for children's groups and read-aloud. Science: weather. Soc/Emo: kindness.
So, this is more four stars in relation to another Elephant and Piggie book, "There's a Bird on Your Head." That one is the gold standard. This is a close silver. Whereas TaBOYH is rambunctious and will leave your child in stitches, this will be a more sedate read with a few smaller giggles. Certainly any child who loved TaBOYH who finds this book exists will clamor to read it, but they may find themselves disappointed.
Warning: Maybe avoid reading this in the rainy season, unless you're prepared to clean up lots of muddy clothes and floors.
This still works as a good early reader book, though kids might only read this on their own once or twice before moving on to others.

We adored this book! In fact, the books that we have read in the series have all proven to be utterly delightful.
Great for friendship or rainy day themes. I love Elephant & Piggie!
Cute, fun, insights and things to ponder for the young readers and easy to read for those who have just started reading. In this story elephant and piggie turns something negative into something positive :)
Piggie can’t wait to go play in the sunshine. But will a rainy day ruin all the fun?
Oh my goodness. This book is adorable. Gerald and Piggie are ready to play outside and they have the whole day planned but then it suddenly begins to rain! And not just sprinkling rain but pouring rain. Is their day ruined?! This installment keeps up the wonderful humorous characters that readers will know from previous books and there are also some surprising new characters if you pay attention.
