I couldn't put this book down, but as it got to the end it was like really? Is this how this book is going to end. A bit of a let down.

I think all the ideas and Mayfair family lore were so interesting and made it a fun book to read. But for me, it was a bit too sprawling and all over the place to continue reading. I found the chapters on the family lore more interesting than the actual plot itself. I think most of my frustration with the story was how inconsistent the main characters seemed. Where I understood that the point was that all the narrators were unreliable as they only acknowledge what they happen to know, think, or understand, but Rowan’s character went too much between calculating and reactional. Although I enjoyed some of the drama, it became too over the top to really enjoy without feeling tried and confused by the sheer amount going on.
