A story of trauma and trust. I loved the slow burn of the characters and how intentional and patient the MMC was with Emma though all of her past and baggage. Really enjoyed the redemptive story.

This was not the book for me. At least the audio book version. Didn’t hold my attention and overall not my cup of tea

There was no chemistry in this book. Between any one. Also they used the one child character as a literal prop. There were multiple instances where she was apparently in the room but never spoke??? I could not suspend my disbelief.

This book had surprising depth! A super flawed FMC, a sugary sweet but tough MMC. Found family. Mixed family. Some big triggers; but they’re handled with complete respect and profound heartbreak.

I haven’t given a lot of 5 stars the last few months, but dang this one did me in!

1 star. that was some CRAZY bootlicking

tw: mentions of rape, child neglect, sexual assualt, cops/copaganda

reed’s family is crazy and i wish emma kept hating cops. this was written in such a coho way like just terrifyingly traumatic for these women and like sex/love was just supposed to heal that? get these people in therapy!!!!!
