Olivia is one of the sweetest characters ever.
I love the illustrations and the first-graders enjoy the book too:)

I wanted to like this more than I did. I loved the illustrations, but it seemed a little stream of consciousness to me. Cute, but not sure what all of the hype is about!

One of my favorite childhood books that I wanted to read to finish the booktube-a-thon challenges.

I wish I'd been Olivia when I was little (except the pig part...and maybe the wearing a uniform to school part). What a role model. Honestly, way too many kids books have male protagonists. Go Olivia!

The illustrations are my favorite part. I don't really like the story line (it's rather straight and boring) however it is still cute and made me laugh. As a reader, I thought it was great, as an educator, I'd say it was alright.

After seeing the animated series on television, I had expected something quite different. Still very enjoyable and a good bedtime read!

In a very simple way this book captures the energy and charm of a super active smart little kid, without the exhaustion of being there yourself. With surprisingly intricate simple pictures it lets you feel her day. Great writing and funny, fantastic art. And given that it ends with bedtime book reading (and then sleep), quite fitting as a bedtime book. I'd expect this book would be fun to study page by page, including looking at the two paintings called out by Olivia's trip to the museum.
