A poignant tale of moms, family, and first loves.
Extremely reflective book, with some gorgeous poetic moments that really stuck with me.
I felt at times it was a bit too heady for me, and i felt some of the metaphors/lyricism dragged. More than that, though, I left the book wishing there had been more still about Little Dog and his mom. I loved ALL the parts about Trevor, and wish equal detail was paid to Rose and Little Dog’s relationship — past, present, and future. I feel like this is probably an unpopular opinion, but it’s how I feel!!!
Nonetheless, it was beautiful and moving.

The book is so personal I couldn’t relate to much of it but the way feelings and perspectives are described makes it so easy to see where the author is coming from. Was NOT prepared for the last third of the book almost cried on the train
