ich weiß nicht irgendwie. habe viele stellen markiert die super schön waren hab aber auch viel fünf mal gelesen und nicht zu einer antwort auf meine fragen gekommen - e.g. ist das zu hoch für mich oder sind das einfach nur schöne wörter aneinandergereiht?
fühle mich aber auch irgendwie schlecht so ein vulnerable buch zu raten, also belassen wir es erstmal dabei.

cuando escribió que envidiaba a las palabras porque podían simplemente EXISTIR y ya con eso era suficiente para expresarse, por lo que a veces deseaba ser una palabra para solamente recostarse y que todos lo entiendan sin la necesidad de que él tenga que explicarse DIOS MÍO

omg this book was so pretentious for no reason. i felt like ocean wrote this book, then went back in and made some passages as confusing as possible. i’m not a poetry reader or an english major, so it wasn’t the book for me. i also hate a stream of consciousness book.

audiobook was read beautifully read by Ocean his voice perfectly matches the lyricism in this book.

Originally tried to read in 2019 and hard DNF-ed it because I was so bored, but we have grown as a character since then and can appreciate different forms of art lol.

This prose was stunning! The way that he weaves poetry all through this book and writes all of his characters with such sympathy was really nice to read. I like that tropes are often subverted and no one in this book behaves how you would expect them to 100% of the time.

E.g. Trevor after little dog shits himself during sex, Little Dogs grandfathers whole marriage story and little dog still accepting him as his grandfather

Ocean is very good at making you care for all of these characters and that makes it hit so much harder when the troubles of their life come to front.

Okay so i started reading not long ago , probably I’ve read around 20 books so far and this book is my favorite so far , I love the way it’s written , he has a very unique style , loved the story , didn’t make me cry but it gave me a sensation really intense that made it feel so worth it , also love that it’s not too long or too short , I didn’t have very high expectations because a lot of people have rated it not 5 stars but it definitely is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️
