Daphne is looking for a love match in a prospective husband, but everyone in the ton sees her only as a friend. As the new Duke of Hastings, Simon wants nothing to do with the marriage scene, but it consistently being bothered by the women who wish to marry him.

Together, they form an alliance to pretend to court each other to bring up Daphne’s appeal and steer women away from the presumed taken Simon. Their plot, though, brings them closer together than either expected.

Listen, we’ve probably all seen Bridgerton Season 1, so I’m not going to break down the entire synopsis. I loved the differences between the book and the show and felt that it improved on the story between the two. Some of it made their relationship make more sense - it draws on what the show rushed.

Solid 4.5 stars - I’m ready to finish the series!

One of the few times I enjoyed the series more than the book. Felt slow at times but was still a good read.

I got to say that I have been hit by the hype train and I do not think I can get off. This book and Julia’s way of writing is quite addictive. It’s easy, fast and just fun to read. Obviously this is not a book for people looking for heavy fantasy, period pieces or historical fiction. This book is completely romance and I love it for that.
