As far as a descendant story goes, it was good. It wasn't as well paced or rich in content as the first book was. I kinda feel at this point she's just churning them out to keep up with demand while everyone waits for a new movie too come out. The dialogue was a bit jerky, and bland. The characters didn't feel like the characters I watch on screen. Evie almost seems insecure and silly. Jay is unemotional and cold. Carlos is a quivering mess, and Mal is almost a bitch in this book, I didn't like her but I love her in the movies.
I don't know. They need to be less rushed, and keep with the theme of the characters we see on screen.

This book was completely straight to the point. While it was fun to read, there was not much character development but everything about the story’s development. Also, a little bit more romance can’t hurt anybody, eh? 😅

The cool thing about this series is that it bounces back and forth from the books and the movies. The first book was the first part of the story. The movie, the second. Now this book is the third. This story took on the more mystery sleuthing of it all as the kids have to go out and solve the mystery of who is threatening them. Indeed there are red herrings and truthful paths, but would it be an entertaining mystery without them. An easy fast read that helps a person get back into a youthful head space of mystery and magic that started in our hearts years ago.
The power of friendship takes all and it grows as trouble approaches.

Fun story! Love how it's interconnected with the Disney Channel movies! The creativity in giving the children of the different Disney Villians such personality made the read that much more enjoyable!
