It was interesting, but very hard to keep track of the characters as an audiobook.
I'm keeping this short because I do not have too many thoughts that aren't just rants and personal opinions.
Motherhood is a hard thing to do. Women go through this difficult procedure and then have to raise their children. This book follows the side of motherhood that is less conventional and messed up.
This book was slow and dragged. Personally the last 20% or so was the most interesting part of the book.
This just was not for me, unfortunately.

Just not very good. Unsatisfying ending. Hard to keep track of the characters and their backstories. All these women seem very mentally unstable and obsessive.

The book was a decent page-turner, definitely kept my interest. There were nights I was tempted to stay up and finish the book. Molloy did a nice job with her characters and I really appreciated how well she developed the supporting characters, especially the husbands. Each character had her own sub-story, but it never detracted from the main storyline, if anything it enhanced it. She changed POVs, but with her style and in her own way. She didn’t have to announce it with the title of the chapter, she just referenced things and you knew whose POV it was.
The book gets 3 stars because I feel Molloy pulled the ending out of a hat. The solve was a bit random and that is only because she didn’t leave any breadcrumbs at all, nothing the reader could go back to and say “ooohhhhh”. You were just like “whaaa?”.
It was a really good read and the ending wasn’t a disappointment, it was just a little disconnected from the rest of the book.

A little hard to follow as an audio book as it kept jumping from woman to woman without a change in the voice but a fun book overall.
I ordered this book from the Book of the Month Club on a whim having heard nothing about it prior to ordering it. I’m so glad I did. Everything is all “sunshine, lollipops and rainbows“ in this group of new mothers. That is, until one of the babies goes missing. Then, secrets and real personalities are revealed in the hunt for Baby Midas. I really like the set up of this book where each chapter is coming from a different person‘s perspective. A very fast and fun read!
