Felt like I had to trudge through this one to finish. Author buried the lead really well, but it was tough to stick with until the end. Extremely slow.

Anyone else feel the same way?  What a convoluted mess, lol.  I found it hard to follow the characters, especially since it felt like the author was just throwing in weird character backgrounds for shock.  Oh, and why did it seem like the mother group was 'sleuthing' more than the detectives on the case?  Is it just me? 😁.

This book was just ok
There are too many characters and I never kept it straight who was who. Additionally some characters have “new” names and former names.
It’s another one of those books that a key character who thinks they are better suited for solving a crime then the police. These women were making poor decisions which ultimately causes more problems.
It had a young adult vibe to me for some reason. I think there was a good story in there if you can get past all of those things.

Interesting read but a little slow getting into it.

There’s a lot to like about this book. It definitely keeps you on your toes and leads you down all the avenues. I enjoyed it because I have/ had a baby who was within a weeks age of the women in the book so the daily updates were reverent to us as well. Here’s my few complaints: there were a lot of moms in the group that were semi difficult to keep straight. Two, factually all women receive a 6 week postpartum follow up which would make certain elements of this story more challenging. Overall enjoyed the book.

Cool story, bro.

No but really, I thought it was okay. Aimee Molloy perfectly encapsulates modern day motherhood in this intriguing tale of missing baby Midas. The self inflicted strive for perfection, the stress of maintaining work-life balance, and the search for camaraderie and validation from our fellow moms. Not to say those are defining characteristics of new motherhood but they definitely exist. Molloy does a decent job of writing relatable characters and a compelling psychological thriller, although the end threw me for a loop. I can't wait to see this one on the big screen one day.
