This is an epic end to a remarkable series. It’s an understatement to say Kingmakers ends with a bang because there’s so much that happens and so many things explained. And I will absolutely read the entire series over now with this new knowledge because I think it will be even better the second time around. I’m struggling to write this without spoiling anything because I can’t even use the name of one of the MCs without ruining the suspense, but oh my stars, this is a great story.

There’s so much action and so many subplots, but it’s all so perfectly interwoven, there’s no confusion or plot holes. It all flows and makes sense. It’s always kind of odd reading about such young characters but I love watching them grow and change because so much hinges on the transformation. Dean and Cat are probably still my favorite couple of the bunch, just barely edging out the others, but I really enjoyed this book, too. I don’t want to give anything away so I’ll just say that the MCs weren’t who I expected, but their story is amazing. Reading this book was like watching an action movie in my head. The author has a gift for description, really painting a picture with her words and I love that in a book.

This story was riveting from the first page. More than once, I thought I knew what was coming next only to be surprised, which is rare. One thing I wasn’t expecting at all was a third POV but it added so much to the story. The epilogue wraps up all the storylines for the various characters throughout the series nicely, which is one of my favorite things. I’m always sad to see a great series end but I couldn’t imagine a better ending for this one. I loved everything about it.

Solid 4.5 stars!!!

We finally get a character’s story that I’ve been waiting for since the first book! The way Sophie ties all of the character storylines from the rest of the series into this book is phenomenal, you really get a sense of the world that she’s built throughout. Ares had always intrigued me from the very beginning, and the little Easter eggs throughout the previous books all came together towards the end of this instalment.

It was nice seeing everybody come together but all the babies? So early? Although I have to say it was the least toxic couple.

First of all, I knew that Ares was the spy. But, I had no idea that he was pretending to be someone else. I think the main plot of the book was interesting but it lacked something. I felt like Nix and Rafe’s relationship didn’t have enough chemistry. Yes, they were technically enemies to lovers, but it really didn’t feel that way. Again, I really dislike the three perspectives. I was very confused about Rafe’s age at one point. I’m happy Rafe’s father escaped. My man Rafe fully murdered his girlfriends father in front of her…. Anyways the epilogue was better than the entire book. Cat and Dean having a child, makes my heart so happy. Also Leo and Anna having twins like in his dream… adorable.

“The wind that touched your skin might have blown all the way across the world to me,” Rafe says. “Maybe that’s why you smelled so good to me, the moment I got near you.”

Now I'm glad that I read Ivan, it gave little bit more backstory to this book. Can't wait to read Sabrina's book.
Trigger Warning: violence, murder, death of a parent, gun violence, blood, and medical content

The Spy is the fourth book in the Kingmakers series. This book is about The Spy and Nix. We have got to see snippets of The Spy in the past books, but I've really enjoyed reading his book and getting to know who he really is.

The Spy wants revenge for his father being locked up, and he's going to get it by getting to know Nix as her father is the one who locked him up. He will do whatever he can to get intel.

However, as he's following Nix around and getting to know her feelings start to develop. Nix is one of those people who know when danger is lurking around, but she learns to trust The Spy, however, secrets are bound to come out.

What happens between Nix and The Spy when his secret comes out? Can the Spy get his father out? Can Nix trust her father after everything she finds out? Will Nix and the Spy get their happy ending?

I feel so bittersweet writing this review because even though I absolutely loved the ending and thought this book was actual perfection. I cannot believe our time at Kingmakers is over
