Wow, I really loved this book, the story, the characters. It had in depth character development and an emotional and solid story line. I loved Dylan and Grady, both going through and own stuggles and end up together as a result. But not without heartache. Fantastic read!

I loved this book! K. Bromberg is a master at crafting heartwrenching stories that break you down only to build your heart back up again stronger than before. You can't help but fall for Dylan and Grady and their damaged souls. And when they get together in the bedroom, their chemistry is off the charts!
Combust is probably a good title for this story because they really did seem to combust once they finally got together. Songwriter Dylan caught her rockstar boyfriend, Jett, cheating on her. Contractually, she still has to work with him, but she can't stand the idea of doing it from their home, so her brother calls in a favor with a good friend of his, Grady, and they become roomies. Grady had a fire incident a while back that killed his best friend, and he's still dealing with the survivor's guilt of that. And Dylan is suffering from serious self-esteem issues because of things the girl who was cheating with her boyfriend said to her. Then Jett shows up to try to win her back. In an act of desperation, she pretends she and Grady are a thing. Grady's down for playing house for a while, and it's not long before they can no longer resist the actual sparks between them. But this is a temporary thing, right? And both of them have been hurt enough that they don't want to take the chance to say how they really feel. And then things happen that sort of force them to face each other with the truth.
Hot as sin fireman that can make almost any woman swoon or melt? A great story about finding something better than you thought you had? Steamy scenes? This book has it and more!! K. Bromberg did not disappoint.
Dylan found her boyfriend in bed with another woman, and while she wants to completely put distance between them, she can't. She is obligated to help him. Her brother steps in to help and that's where Grady comes in. He has a room she can use. A couple of lies and they are finding they they like make believe more than reality. Will it work though? Can the lie become the truth? You have to read to find out.
I really liked this book and the heat is great. I did find that there were a couple of times when it lost me, but overall it flowed and I loved the chemistry between Dylan and Grady. They burned up the pages. I give the book 4 stars and recommend that you one click today.

This is the sequel to Cuffed, another book about the yummy Malone brothers. The first one was about the oldest, Grant, the cop. This book is about the second oldest, Grady, the firefighter. This is a high chemistry book where the phrase Malone sandwich is frequently used. Those three Malone brothers are hot, sexy and upstanding men in their little town, where everybody knows everybody’s business. Enter Dylan McCoy, songwriter, little sister of Grady’s friend Damon. She needs somewhere to stay where she can write songs for a Jett Kroger album. Jett Kroger is her ex-boyfriend, whom she caught in bed with Tara Perfect Tits. Since Dylan is bound by a contract but she doesn’t want to be near Jett, she’s sorta hiding in Grady’s house. But then she finds out he’s a firefighter, and Dylan has a thing about firefighters.
As soon as I started the book I could tell this was going to be a book about emotional issues. Dylan’s father left them when she was little, and her mother turned to the bottle in her grief. Now Dylan has seen her mother go through a lot of rehabs, so she has a dim view of a firefighter’s sense of fidelity.
Grady was catastrophically hurt in a fire where his partner and best friend also died. Grady has guilty feelings about not saving his friend, who left behind a widow and little boy. He swore he would never have a serious girlfriend or marry so he would not cause suffering to a family in case something happened to him.
So when Dylan and Grady met, there was chemistry, but there were a lot of issues between them. Dylan is on the rebound and Jett’s betrayal has affected her self awareness, so she’s like a shrinking violet, unassuming. Even so, Grady finds her fascinating and loves to hear her make music. There’s a lot of bantering, playing with Petunia the pig, interacting with Grady’s fabulous brothers, dealing with Jett and trying to keep him away, and finishing the twenty songs due for the album.
Grady and Dylan help each other overcome their issues; Dylan helps Grady accept his scars and show them instead of hiding in t-shirts all the time. Grady helped Dylan in her self awareness and sexiness. Even so, their issues were kept front and center all the time, and even when they became lovers it still presented a barrier.
The book was entertaining, lots of bantering, lots of humorous family times, but it didn’t have the magic of Cuffed. I think the type of issue these two characters had didn’t appeal to me and they clung to their issues for too long, IMO. I liked the book, but it’s not my favorite. However, it must be said that the writing is excellent and the pace good. It never lagged and kept me interested to know what happened next. I love these small town romances where you get all the characters intervening.

Move over Grant and Emerson I have a new favorite Malone brother and his woman. Grady and Dylan were just wow, 😍😍.
Dylan is a songwriter getting over a terrible heartbreak when her brother suggests she stay with his friend Grady to clear her mind and have peace to write her songs which have a deadline. Her brother didn’t mention how yummy and delicious his friend was and also his profession since Dylan doesn’t like firefighters because of her daddy issues.
Grady has been going thru life with some insecurities about losing his friend two years before but that doesn’t stop him from pretending to be fine. Then the beautiful songwriter his friend sister is his new roommate and he doesn’t want to get attached.
These two developed a friendship that was so beautiful and their banter was funny. Dylan saw that Grady wasn’t like her dad and Grady saw a woman that has been so heartbroken that she didn’t believe in herself. They were each other’s motivator and rock. Their story was very emotional and you’ll get teary eyed for both of them. But you’ll also get some good laughs especially from Grady’s brother Grayson who I can’t wait to read about, lol. Grady has an awesome support system and they’ve all welcomed Dylan.
These two fight their intense attraction but it’s useless. There’s so much more I can write but it will be spoilers and messing up the plot which I didn’t see coming, lol. What I loved about this book was that it didn’t go into much details about any crazy exes with the exception of the jerk Jett who I wish Dylan was tougher on but anyways.
The epilogue will make you laugh and warm your heart. Grady is my new favorite Malone brother, 😍.

Wow! K. Bromberg has put together a book that will invoke feelings that you didn’t know you could have while reading a book. The relationship between Dylan and Grady is one of a kind and their struggles will help make each other better together. Not only do they have to come to terms with their own issues, but they will have to acknowledge that they don’t just affect them, they affect everyone around them.
Grady’s passion to honor friend’s memory for his friend’s family is amazing. But the inner demons his struggles with daily will take their toll. And he will sacrifice things without realizing the impact it will make until Dylan comes into his life.
Dylan will have to face her past and deal with the issues pertaining to her father. She will have to look at herself and realize that she is worth the risk and that she deserves a happy ending also. Together these two will take you on journey of self discovery and hopefully they will find each other in the end and heal as one.

Another Hit
Dylan and Grady were perfect for each other. Both a little broken from their past that were put together to heal one another. Second chance love for a first time couple. Perfect story.
