This was PHENOMENAL. Absolutely powerful, authentic, and inspiring. I already LOVED Viola Davis down, but this just solidified that love and made it 10 times deeper. She has overcome SO much, and never stopped fighting. There were so many moments in this story that broke my heart and so many that warmed it. I can’t put into words just how much I adored this memoir. It is one of my favorite reads of this year for sure. I would recommend this to ANYONE and EVERYONE! Read it, pleaseee!! 

This is only my second memoir ever, but I think I’m becoming a memoir girl!!!

Wow. No wonder this won awards. This is what a memoir is supposed to be. Gorgeous prose, insightful, moving and touching, and spoken with such wisdom and empathy. 10/10
