This is the first audiobook I’ve ever listened to and what a great introduction it was. Viola Davis was so raw, vulnerable, and real in her memoir. She did not hold back at all and told the good, bad, and ugly. Not only is her memoir a story about herself obvi but also a critique of society’s view of poor Black women. I think this memoir is such an important read for black people, aspiring actors/artists in general, and anyone who wants to read a good memoir. I see why Viola got that Grammy for this audiobook. This is now my favorite memoir. I LOVE VIOLA DAVIS!!!!!!!

Not a fan of this memoir (an unpopular opinion, based on the very high rating!). It was I inspiring to hear where she came from, but I found it repetitive and there were a couple writing errors towards the end of the book.
