Viola Davis

Amazing story of rising from abject poverty! The fifth of 6 children, Viola had a childhood of witnessing extreme physical abuse between her parents and being harassed by boys older than her at school. they lived in extreme poverty without hot water, with poor plumbing, little food, few clothes and a house filled with rats. She and her sisters were afraid to go to the bathroom at night, so they wet the bed and smelled like urine at school. They were teased and ostracized, but were very smart.

Enjoyed it! Viola is regular peoples, with a lot of talent, and not a small amount of luck, as she says of all actors that "make it." I was familiar with some of her work before Doubt, but that's really where I noticed her. To realize how late that came in her becoming who she became is remarkable. Glad she found love because she was looking for it and deserves every win.
