This was a really and fun book to read around Halloween. It definitely brought the spooky vibes, but it had a lot of fun elements to the story. I enjoyed the banter between the two main love interests and how they were accepting of their feelings for each other once they knew they had them. I liked how they worked together to destroy a common enemy and save their town and each other. Gwyn is the more spunky outgoing one while Wells is the introvert that likes things real and classic, but they make such a fun couple to read about. I also really liked how we got glimpses at the couple from the last book and how both of these book connect and flow together so well. This was a short and fun read for any Halloween or fall season. A third book has already been announced and I am really looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.

The Kiss Curse is the charming sequel to The Ex Hex, a story of growing attraction between two competitors while one's witchy powers begin to fade.

Gwynnevere Jones, the cousin of Vivi, is running Something Wicked, a witchcraft shop that sells fake items for the tourists. Llewellyn Penhallow, or Wells, aka Rhys's older brother, has come to Penhallow to open a competing witchcraft shop across the street with similar items. Wells and Gwyn are in a battle of wills until they collide with a spicy kiss. However, when some old friends return to Graves Glen and Gwyn's magic starts to falter, it's a race to find out the cause before it's too late.

The couple explores their chemistry while looking into the returning townsfolk, and they find themselves more vulnerable than ever.
When they find out Wells's father is behind Gwyn's loss of magic, they suffer a classic third act breakup before reuniting in time for Gwyn to save herself from malicious intent.

I enjoyed that there was minimal history between the two main characters, as their relationship developed more on screen rather than in the past, leaving the readers to play catch up. Just like The Ex Hex, this is another cutesy rom-com that does the job.

2,5/3 stars… Not my cup of tea…

Your typical (somewhat shitty) romance novel but with witchcraft. It was cute but kind of unmemorable, in my opinion…

After reading The Ex Hex last fall, The Kiss Curse was one of my highly anticipated reads for October and it did not disappoint!
