Bit more of a serious tone than the first, but I guess I should have excepted that when someone is trying to steel magic and the town.
Wells moves to the area and open a magic shop right across the street from Gwyn’s magic shop, creating a glorious rivalry.
The students at the school also need a place to practice magic and Gwyn is letting them use the shop, nothing could go wrong.
Still witty and fun but we start to get into dark magic so a bit more spooky.

Just a touch of Halloween and paranormal that I needed. Story was fine enough but I’m just in it for the Graves Glen lore.

"In case he wasn't begrudgingly impressed enough, she then called out 'Every purchase includes a complimentary picture or video with Sir Purrcival! Be sure to use the hashtag "something wicked"!'
Diabolical.
Absolutely fiendish.
And when her eyes briefly met his, her cheek dimpling with Go fuck yourself smile, Wells realized he had never been attracted to any woman more in his life.
Well, that was bloody inconvenient."
Erin Sterling does it once again! Another witchy, Halloweentastic, spellbinding, rom-com to fill my hopeless romantic soul.
This time we get the point of view of dear Vivi's cousin Gwyn Jones. Gwyn, a spunky, confident, witty, queen boss witch, helps her mother run their family store "Something Wicked". As Gwyn prepares for Halloween and the festivities that come with it, Gwyn has to not only deal with Vivi and Rhy's PDA before they fly out on their honeymoon, but low and behold another Penhallow has stepped into the picture. Llewellyn "Wells" Penhallow. The annoyingly handsome older brother that is said to be a copy and paste of Rhy's father(who mind you, curses the very name of the Jones family line.) So what else is Gywn supposed to expect besides feeling overall annoyance and dislike for him when Wells suddenly shows up to Glen Graves? Especially since he set up his own "magic" shop across the street. Are you kidding?
Nothing good is coming out of him being in her town. Or so she thought. As the two rivals' competitive arguments rise, so does attraction. Not only this, but Wells is not the only new face showing up in town. A new coven of witches shows up and spooky, and unplanned (aka a very hot and heated kiss) starts happening. Such as Gwyn losing her witch powers. As Gwyn searches for what this new coven has in store, and why her powers have ghosted her, Gwyn turns to Wells for help and a relationship between the two seems to blossom as they find that working together is not as bad as they thought.
This book was the absolute cutest! I consumed the pages and once again was sucked into a hocus pocus haze as I dreamed of being a spunky witch myself. Erin does such a good job in creating a cozy, comedic atmosphere with her stories and it automatically pulls you into the story. The characters are all such a joy and the romance?! So good!
Guys. The BANTER! I love love banter!!!! I cannot contain the giddiness when I read about them arguing and they just get closer and closer . . . and then . . .*evil witch cackle* I inhale this content guys.
The story was so cute too! It was simple and it felt perfect for Wells and Gwyn. One thing I really hate in stories is overdramatizing fights and misunderstandings, but I felt that Erin does an excellent job of creating a conflict with just enough drama to cause a bit of riff in their relationship, but not so much that it was like . . . they lose trust in each other.
Gwyn was such a queen. I loved her attitude and how she never took crap from anyone, which was perfect because she definitely kept Wells on his toes. I loved how caring she was as well. She was always willing to help out those in need and made sure that her little shop made everyone feel welcome. She was so funny as well! The way she sarcastically came up with jokes was pure gold. I wish I just had an image of Wells's face every time she said something and it totally caught him off guard.
Wells. Wells. Wells. What a scrumptious man you are. I don't want to give too much away . . . but let's just say . . . he knows how to worship his woman. Also blue eyes? Broad chest? Narrow waist? nicely cut beard?! aaaaaaaaaaah.
I highly recommend this book if you looking for an easy Halloween romance, just to sit down and enjoy.

Such a fun, light-hearted read! I enjoyed everything in this story.
Who doesn’t love a grumpy/sunshine romance? I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I like the first book on the series, “The Ex Hex”. But I like this one just a little bit more. This time it was Vivi’s quirky cousin Gwen’s turn to shine. I enjoyed Gwen’s character in the previous book and I couldn’t wait for her to have her own story.
Gwen and Wells had a bumpy start; with him not even remembering their first meeting in college. But they found themselves constantly drawn to one another. So when trouble arrives in town and Gwen’s Magic starts to go wonky it only made sense to pair up with Wells to figure out what was going on. If they happen to get closer while trying to Scooby everything, so be it. Add in some baby witches and the return of Purrcival the talking cat and you got some fun hijinx. I would definitely recommend this book.
Special thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for releasing this arc to me in exchange for an honest review.
