Nunca se me había hecho tan pesado leer un clásico. La edición que tengo yo de Alianza en la que vienen 5 cuentos y todos se me han hecho prácticamente iguales, sobre todo los 3 primeros sentía que estaba releyendo una y otra vez lo mismo pero con diferentes nombres. De 5 solo han sido dos los que no han sido del todo lentos, "las campanadas" y "la batalla de la vida". También es verdad que los he leído todos de seguido y que quizá sería mejor leerlos por separado en distintos momentos, y que por culpa de José Mota y su especial de navidad el primer cuento no paraba de imaginarme a Scrooge como él JAJAJAJAJA pero bueno al menos es un libro menos en el Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge

Este ano o meu Natal foi muito estranho. Não houve árvore, não estava com espírito, nem me lembrava, tão pouco, que estava na época do ano que mais gosto. Ainda assim optei por entrar em vários sorteios e acabei por receber este livro num deles (obrigado Sofia!) pelo que tentei entrar no espírito do Natal com a sua leitura. Nem isso ajudou e só ontem o consegui acabar.
Quem é que, desse lado, nunca leu, ouviu falar ou viu o filme Cântico de Natal ou um conto de Natal? este é o conto que inicia o livro e é, seguramente, o mais conhecido e o melhor dos três que compõem este livro. Ao que parece esta história foi escrita, inicialmente, em menos de um mês para que o autor pudesse pagar as suas dívidas, e acabou por se tornar um dos maiores clássicos de Natal de todos os tempos e uma das mais célebres obras de Dickens. O livro vale todo por este clássico, uma verdadeira maravilha, mesmo que já se conheça a história e que seja referenciada constantemente.
Os Carrilhões não está mal. Começa bem - uma família pobre que vive com extremas dificuldades perto duma igreja onde tocam os carrilhões e que o pai da família sente uma ligação aos carrilhões - mas depois descamba um bocado para maisdomesmo. Torna-se um bocado confuso, acabamos por perder um pouco o fio da história e acaba por desiludir no fim.
O último conto é O Grilo da Lareira e, confesso, não o acabei. Vinha já meio desiludida com Os Carrilhões, a escrita deste conto é mais complicada que os outros, a história é ainda mais confusa... li metade e nem me lembro bem sobre o que era.
De qualquer maneira, e como já disse, o livro vale todo pelo primeiro conto. No próximo Natal faço questão de voltar a ler o Cântico de Natal, já embuida do espírito Natalício. E, quem sabe, conseguirei apreciar devidamente os outros dois contos.

Mi historia de navidad favorita de toda la vida.
Siempre vi las adaptaciones cinematográficas, pero este año por fin pude acercarme a la concepción original.
Por alguna razón, es el cuento o historia que más miedo me ha dado, tal vez por su cercanía con la realidad.

Charming collection of old-fashioned Christmas stories! The anthologist did a great job of setting up each story (especially if it was part of a larger body of work). Perfect read by the light of the Christmas tree! So lovely to have many of my favorites in one handy tome rather than hunting through each novel separately- which I don’t ever get around to doing. I recommend this delightful collection!

"Christmas Carol", A History of Christmas Ghosts
This is a story, a tale already well known and because of the movie "A Christmas Carol" by Robert Zemeckis. I saw the movie in the theater in 2009 and fell in love completely by the story of Ebenezer Scrooge and the ghosts of Christmas. Every year the Christmas time have a habit of watching the movie and since 2009 he wanted to buy the book Dickens Christmas tale.
Reading this story didn't disappoint me at all. I still to like it! Dickens's writing is addictive, and I say this because even know the story heart by heart I was super excited to read the story and wanted to devour it all at once. The descriptions are perfect, I could imagine what was described perfectly.
Not much to say about this story. I'm a passionate about it. And this year changed the film on Christmas Day by the tale reading.

"The chimes", magic history of some bells that announce the departure of an old year and the arrival of a new year.
This story was very strange to me.
Toby speaks of a "servant" of scraps an old man looking for the bells, which has a "fascination" for them and compares them with himself. But beyond that, this tale is a reflection of English society of that time and the marked differences between social classes.
The first half of the story is very boring and even gave me want to move to the next tale, but as I'm persistent, continued with reading and discovered a second part of the much more interesting, but still strange .. I dislike this tale, honestly.

"The Cricket on the hearth", A Tale of domestic Fairies.
Well, this story .. This story is too strange, but it is a positive odd. Unlike the previous tale that grabbed me from the start and soon started to like him.
Tells of several people. Peerybingle the couple, Caleb and his blind daughter and Mr. Tackleton, a manufacturer of ugly toys.
This is an interesting story and full of surprises. Simply I enjoyed immense this tale. He held me from first to last line. It is a tale that makes us think.

Los cuatro cuentos se centran en Navidad, el espíritu navideño, las memorias y la importancia de las relaciones humanas. Son familiares, amenas, cariñosas y confortante. Lo tuve que leer en dos parte, primer dos cuentos y luego los otros dos. Si bien la escritura del autor es exquisita en detalles me resultó difícil seguir el hilo al comienzo de los cuentos cuando se presenta la historia, por eso me tomó tanto engancharme con el relato y leerlo.

Qué decir de este clásico....una historia maravillosa que deberíamos releer cada Navidad.
Sencillo, pero con esa forma de escribir tan potente de Dickens, que deja clavado al lector con descripciones y comentarios directos , a veces jocosos, a veces sensibles.
