The 1st book in the series was better. I finished this book and I'm not sure what the plot was. It felt like a whole lot of nothing or well...like just a bunch of random sequences of events that were randomly strewn together. The events weren't fun to read and just felt like blah. The smut doesn't happen until the 73% mark too.
Someone on tik tok said we needed to bring back yearning into books and this book definitely needed some yearning and not just lust.
And everyone kept calling the Male MC an asshat the whole time which got boring and the whole main problem and the marriage of convenience trope...it just felt like a book trying to check off different tropes instead of telling a story. I don't think I'll read the last book of the series because this book felt like a chore to get through.
